For my 1st post I just thought I'd say "HELLO" to all the TG watchers out there & give you a little story of how I've become a TG addict.

It was in May 2004, my lovely wife & I were on our honeymoon, (touring the UK & Europe) we were in our hotel room in Inverness, Scotland when, with some time to kill before our dinner reservation I turned on the TV and started my patented high speed channel surfing ..... until I stumbled upon this unusual motoring program (Australia has NO credible programs) where these 3 "nutters" bought these cheap cars, went through these tests & finally rammed them into concrete blocks, my wife and I thought it was fantastic and since then we've been hooked on it.

When we returned home, I searched the net & found Vipers fantastic site & started up ABC and started downloading every episode I could find .. we've now got some of our friends & workmates hooked as well.

That's enough of my rambling ... I hope to post here regularly.

Wecome (1st again 8) ).

I know what you mean about turning other people on to the show too. I've got a bunch of friends watching it too.

First story I heard were a female is watching Top Gear as well :p

I'm sure you'll find that there are plenty of women watching it ... plus I think that the ticket sales for the TG audience must be split 50/50.

Thats because of all the men who forces their ladies to come along and promise them a nice meal if they do so. Also the ladies must know that their man will be smiling for days after, so it kind of worth it.
And also there must be a lot of ladies who are in love with Hammond.

Haha, I just watched a few old eps and there are so little people! About 20...now they have some hired chicks..and the whole studio is full of people..much better now :p

My friend went to see the show and he had to have an equal split of boys and girls in his group to be allowed there.

I ran across Top Gear back in May '04 (heh, 'last year') and have undergone, as so many of us have, an addiction to the show. Fifth Gear just doesn't do it for me, although the Tiff and Vicky sportbike trackday bit was cool.

I have since infected a bunch of my friends and coworkers with the Top Gear bug, and they come over and watch every week... :D

It makes me want to try doing something vaguely like Top Gear here in the States, but I don't know how well the irreverent (and very funny) presentation style would go over.

My GF watches the episodes as well.. She yells at me when i didn't begun to download that week's episode

Also she can race like hell. She owns a 1994 Honda Prelude and we use dto race in Fiday night in the highway. Last to finish, pay the gas, the dinner and the entrance to the disco
