Ownership Verified: My Italian soft-top, rarer than a 599 GTO.

Todays foible, alternator might be on the way out. By the time I got home it was dark and the multimeters in the shed.
Yesterday he was un-stallable, today I stalled twice in Tesco car park. My heavy shoes probably didn't help.

Some jerk on the Fiat Forum...

He has an ashtray, I don't smoke and all Panda's have them... and my speakers are even more basic.

An...interesting purchase, for sure. Looks like it'll be a hoot to drive, nevertheless. Enjoy it and don't forget to take it to the Ring! :p

:+1:

Under 20 minutes?

For some reason I remember driving a Panda around the 'Ring in Gran Turismo 4. I was there for a long time, 13 minutes or something.

Taking the Hull to Rotterdam ferry would take it down to a 3h 40m trip... coincidentally also the laptime the car will do. ;)

Parade has these features which are unusual on a Panda:
door mirrors which you can adjust from the inside.
sun visors which will unclip and pivot to cover the door glass.
body coloured radiator grille.

:clarkson: 'Wooooooow.'

I love this, reminds me of the old Mazda 121 'Fun Tops' that used to be everywhere. But way cooler!

Found the brochure on Fiat Forum: Spring Green, ?5198.20
Max speed 87 MPH, 0-60 in 16 seconds, 2 wiper speeds including intermittent. :|

Max speed 87 MPH

Be honest though, how drunk would you have to be to take it to that speed? :D

(Obviously kids you shouldn't be drinking heavily or otherwise while driving your Pandas around, just while quietly weeping and considering your purchase.)

I can rep you right now but I wish I could, just for the new avatar!

Absolutely LOVED it!

I hit 80-ish, the speedos aren't great and without a rev counter I dunno whats the limit.
I do weep, tears of joy.

I guess?

........

Ok heres the lookaround, I took the car to my mums because all my tools are there and theres space. Firstly she starts talking to the neighbour and decided to take the piss. The neighbour couple in their 60/70's. "Oh, we had one of those, great car nothing to go wrong with them" *High fucking five.

Firstly I couldn't find the multimeter, so I was off to a great start. Opened the bonnet and the rocker gasket has gone. Oil level about half way, oil didn't look that bad. Air filter did and was a bit oily. Brake fluid at the top and a good colour.

Heres the lambda sensor:

Underneath it looks pretty bloody solid. Sills appear to be original, is that possible?

The spare tyre is loose under the bonnet?

Ok, the boot that doesn't work, the button outside pushes in and then gets stuck. This is the only way I could get it open.

The rear roof, i'm missing the elastic, the front one has torn too. The metal clip at the back is really loose.

Having said that, best idea ever!!!

When I opened the boot, water was coming out of the top left. Obviously the rear washer hose. :(

... and the steering wheel center came loose, how the hell does it go back on?

Congrats, that's too cool. :)

you didn't really want it, but give it some time, and you'll love the car to bits!

AFAIK, D-fence can give you tips on that.

Drove to work with the front roof open, yes, it's only a sunroof. But, I arrived with a smile on my face.
I also accidentally wheelspinned in 2nd. "Powwwwwerrrrr" :jeremy:

Few bits of the brochure.

"Fully Integrated Robotised Engine (FIRE)"

Oh dear, this does not bode well for an Italian car.

All joking aside, I love it. I think a rally car paint job would suit it, or maybe just white with a big Italian flag down the middle, slightly offset.
