After I sold my s class mercedes, I bought a Panda, a 1.1 cvt with a glass roof.
Costed me 800 euro, mint condition.
I bought some extra's, like a right hand outside mirror, a door card holder, 2 speaker holders and a radio. Everything except the radio was probably 50 bucks. It didn't have an antenna, so I put some electric wire behind the dash, which did the trick.
Then a branch fell on the car, dented the roof a tiny bit, and the bonnet a bit. Hardly noticable. The council gave me 827.16 euro for that. Didn't get it repaired as it all was still looking good, no chipped paint or whatever.
My Neapolitan Mastiff loved the car.
Then after 2.5 years, the missus wanted a quicker car, a bit bigger as well, and guess what? The car broke down. The plugs on the fuel pump were a bit loose. Pliers and fixed.
Traded the car in and got 500 back for it.
Cheapest car I ever owned. People may have laughed at me, but I had an AMC Javelin, an Escort convertible and a VW transporter as well, so I didn't care.
You've done well.
