2001 summer... My first time i saw drifting cars. And guess what? They where lada's :) So I defenetly needed one. Whats the poin in a Lada? Well, its RWD, its cheap to buy, its the cheapest to tune, and you can get out ~150 great horses from it with 800 kg. So its not bad :)

So for 3 years I worked to collect enough money. And this is what i bought:

Well not to good eh? Well it was 350-400 euro.
Alright lets strip everything out:

So..... I don't have proper welding tool, and knowledge. So I needed a welder. This is what he did:

Hm starting to look somehow :)
While the welder was doing the chassis I bought some parts, and a A class engine: bigger chanels, polished, lightend, etc BUT it hasnt got bigger valves. (~110 hp)

Engine:

Sport shock absorbers:

Brand new Ferrodo brake pads, brand new brake drums, brake disc's, etc... So everything is new.

Now, I'm waiting for my father, coz I'm stupid for electrics  .
After that, il have to buy an LSD, and make the suspension stiffer (with the parts above). So there is plenty of work left. I'l update pics when somethin is done ;)

wow, didnt know you got this far. nice engine ;)

keep us updated mancs

Hmm why would I be?

Nah nah sorry...its just that its a Lada :p How much in total have you spent on this thing??

lada in east europe is like hachi (ae68) in japan ;)

cheap, lots of parts, easy to maintain, easy to tune, rwd, light, good for beginners and even advanced racers, lots of fun.

rally, drifting, trackdays it all suits with the proper modifications and tuning :)

Hm.. Ilove it when people say that is "just a lada" :) Rally: ~150 ladas beat the shit out of ~240 hp suzuki ignis racecars. So trust me, they are not bad, they just have to be made properly ;) .

Nother thing, this is my dream. Everybody has a stupid dream, this is mine :D

Well, when its onna be finished it will be around 2500 euro. With the cars cost.

Yep. Its the hungarian Hachiroku

Heh heh its amazing how something like a Lada can make someone so proud :p Good for you and yeh, come to think of it, it is kinda like a Hungarian Hachiroku :)

Looking good. Fair bit of work done already mate, I look foward to more updates!

This is cool! I'm a big fan of restorations, especially with cars like that, simple, tough and easy to maintain!

nice stuff you've done to it till now, had no idea there were parts at all available for a lada

it's always cool to do a restauration, it doesn't matter what it is, as long as it's yours and you have progress 8)

Good pics!
It's irrelative what car is in hand, it's always cool to see some easy-to-browse-through car restoration thread. I can't do shit to my car so it's nice to see someone can :D
