My new project car: 1990 Mustang GT

Just a little post about some happenings :D

I'm buying another block from my cousin's dad for safe keeping, so my cousin and I went ahead and tore the block apart tonight. Well we found to be....a little messed

The wall on cylinder #7 is very wavy on the top, we're thinking it broke off, and just slapped around for a bit and forced itself into the wall a bit.

So good thing we're getting another block that's supposed to be good :D

You could always sleeve it...
We just wanting a spare block for safe keeping, not feeling like spending much on it, if it might sit for 3-4 years.

Went down to the shop for about 30min, thought I would take a couple pics :D

They definately have a lot of engines in there, had a built roots supercharged GM motor in there, a couple other built fords...but loads of pieces all over :D

Trans is being built starting next week, going to be done in about 2 weeks. Still debating on to either rebuild the 8.8" or go for a Moser 9". We also got a shop on the Ill. Border called Anderson Motorsports that will be doing the fuel system and dyno'ing the car in.

This car is going to be freakin' awesome when it gets going!!!!

That sir is a freaking understatement. Video with audio is REQUIRED when you get it done.

It's not overly agressive, but it has a decently duration, have to get the spec sheet from the shop on Monday.

It may not look fancy, but there is a strong AOD in there

Kinda had to take a break for a couple weeks, the guy whose shop I use to put the engine together was out for medical reasons. So a bit of a setback, but still chugging along! :D

is that an auto or a manual? Cuz it looks like a slushbox to me...

Aye, auto w/ shift kit. Went this way for consistency, possibly reliability on the track

only a 2 bolt main ? be safe with the thing. and auto trannys are quicker in the quarter then manuals. and easier to drive in traffic :p

Cool deal, looks like you are moving right along.

We fired my buddy's car earlier this week and got it moving on it's own power last night. We can't get the TV cable right, so he's going to take it to the shop that built the AOD to have them set it.

Trans shop warned me of that, setting the TV cables on an AOD was especially tempermental. So I'm gonna take the car back down there too when it's ready :D

You got any pictures/videos of it?

I drove my buddy's car on Tuesday, something isn't right. The car feels sluggish until 4500, then it starts making power, but then you have to shift at 6k. I think the timing needs rechecked and the intake manifold is way oversized. It's a Super Victor, I believe it's rated for 4500 to 8500...

or a mix of both. the intake would do it but idk if itd be overly noticeable. the timing is the first thing id futs with. if everything else is solid then there isnt really anything else that could be wrong.

Turns out he had installed several of the rockers on upside down and didn't have the FPR hooked to a vacuum source. He says it runs better now...
How is it possible to put rockers on updside down? :? That would be pretty noticeable, visually and performance crippling
