Ownership Verified: My Porsche EV Wagen (2021 Taycan Cross Turismo 4S)

I was giggling at the high consumption but then I noticed it was kwh/100 miles and not kms.
Considering it's a large and quite powerful car that is very good...

Also, it seems prices are quite low for electricity, are these all DC fast charges? YES

Do you have a subscription or is this just what it costs ? NO SUBSCRIPTION

Also, yes, that car is absolutely lovely to look at.

I answered your questions in bold

Here's my most recent max estimated range:

I have almost 100 photos from Werks Réunion alone. What I shared doesn't even scratch the surface what I saw there.

Maybe I'll post more photos in the cars spotted thread. 🤔

Those wheels are a great design. They convey ruggedness, while still being elegant, with a lightweight edge, and are appropriate both for off roading and casino show-offing. Perfect complement for the Cross Turismo.

Awesome!!

That blue Porsche with the Böblingen license plate needs a „nett hier“ sticker on the back.

Yeah thats a new Boxster Spyder GT4RS. I'm not German so I dont understand your reference.

Have a (not so) fun story to share:

I street parked my car in LA a few weeks ago, and when I returned I found someone vandalized the rear window glass, looks like it was shot up by a pellet gun. Weirdly, it could have been much worse but no other body panel or window was shot up 🤔 Til this day I have no idea who did this or why.

Fortunately my car insurance policy has a separate glass replacement policy ($50 deductible for all window replacements due to road related damage or vandalism) so financially wasn't a big fuss. But after filing claim had to wait 2 weeks for the replacement window from Porsche Germany parts warehouse to arrive.

Installation of the glass went fine, but in the process of disassembling the rear wiper to remove the glass, the plastic part of the wiper which mounts to the motor snapped and had to be replaced as well. Luckily this was also covered under my glass replacement, so had to wait another few days for a local Porsche dealership parts department to order a new replacement wiper. Got my rear wiper reassembled (20 min job) and my rear window re-tinted again, good as well. 👍🏻

I asked the glass replacement business how much the out of pocket cost would have been, they estimated parts ($1400) + labor approx $1700-1800.

I'm kind of grateful, having the Turismo rear hatch, it probably made the rear glass replacement 10x easier vs the fixed sedan/saloon glass 🤔

*cackles in 2020 tesla in germany situation* ... yeah they took 8 weeks total until I had a new windscreen. luckil the stonechip was rather minor, just right in my line of sight so had to be replaced.

very weird thing though... like, why this super localized damage? if it really was a case of deliberate vandalism, you'd expect it to go beyond that, no? also: that's the sort of prices I'd expect from porsche lol. how are those simple parts that are involved so friggin expensive? the labor part (clarification: labor is another 300-400$ to total 1800, yes?) actually seems fairly reasonable...

Yeah the way the vandalism was done still puzzles me. Whoever clearly could have messed up my car far more extensively and costly, but didn't. And if the person was trying to do a smash and grab break in he sure didn't try very hard to smash the glass. So I still don't get what happened 🤔

That's plausible. That would be one way to easily break most car windows.
Probably expected one such hit to shatter the entire window into little pieces like you'd expect from the old style safety glass, maybe? That wouldn't make all that much noise, if it worked. Then tried a few more times for good measure before realizing that that's not being used anymore and giving up...

Maybe it wasn't a BB/pellet gun and a spring loaded auto-center punch?

You just push down and it pops, usually to leave a small dent in metal to mark a drill point.
Discussing with more people, you're probably right. My car has heat/sound insulated laminated glass, and that may explain whey multiple attempts were made to break into my hatch but the glass wouldn't shatter and the would be theives gave up and moved on.

Any street cctv?

Just figured with a BB gun the grouping would be difficult to achieve and the ricochet would be difficult to avoid.
