German supercar manufacturer Gumpert appears to be out of the Black Forest of insolvency. But these photos of its concept Tornante fell straight into the jaws of the Big Bad media Wolf. Mreh. We were rooting for the wolf so that we could get a peek. The Tornante is a sex tornado that looks more than capable of shredding the hairpin turns for which it was named. Powered by a 690 hp twin turbo V8, it features a paddle shifted six-speed semi-automatic transmission that sends power to a pair of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, which we thought were for Lincolns.
More photos over on World Car Fans

There's a whiff of vaporware here but I'm just happy they decided that aerodynamics and downforce weren't the only way to shape a car. This looks great, particularly the rear.

R8 rear + C-X75 front? Not that it's a bad thing.

Huh. Not so edgy anymore, are we?

Looks kinda generic.

They still won't sell any because the problem with the Apollo wasn't the looks or the name...

Shame; because that looks awesome.

The rear looks kinda Bentley-ish to me.

I prefer the Apollo :|
