72 has different corner lights. It's a 71 - and it's an Impala. For our Euro cousins, it's a cheaper version of a Caprice and was more common in police/fleet service and in police/fleet trim.
One giveaway in 71 is that the Caprice has a 'bowtie' logo on the grille and the Impala doesn't, plus the Impala has the spelled out 'C H E V R O L E T' on the leading edge of the hood.
The particular one in the top post is definitely in police or fleet trim; cheap body (no optional/uplevel trim or fittings on the outside) and the classic "dog dish" cheap hubcaps covering steel wheels.
