I'm really hoping some of you guys can help me out with this (I feel stupid enough having to ask this in the first place).

I used to have a personal account with PayPal. I made a mistake when I signed up (filled in first name instead of initials) so I couldn't add a bank account, which didn't matter, since I only used PP to send payments, by credit card.

Last week I created a new (premier) account there. I added a bank account, but I couldn't add a credit card cuz it was still in use with my old account. I didn't know you could transfer a credit card from one account to another, so I closed the old account. That was a big mistake. I figured that deleting the account would also delete my credit card from the system so I could use it again. But no. The number is in there forever, for "safety reasons", to make sure no one can ever use it again.

I was like "crap, now my brand new, just renewed credit card is useless". But I could still pay with Instant Transfer. Or so I thought. But it seems I can't use that option until my account is properly activated/verified, FOR WHICH I NEED TO ADD A CREDIT CARD>_<.

And now someone on the other side of Ebay is waiting for a payment for some nice car badges, but I can't get it to him>_< At least not through paypal.

So does anyone know how I can send Direct Transfer payments through PP or maybe get my credit card unlocked (I could always try begging them through email I suppose)??. I don't think I can get another credit card BTW. I have a student credit card and I do believe that that entails that you can only have one.

Help is greatly appreciated!

Check if you have some kind of service where you can create temporary credit cards. They're attached to your account or debit card, and you create a new number with a limit set by you.

In Portugal it's MBNet. MB it's multibanco, which is the name of our ATMs.

Just tell the CC company you lost your old card, and they'll cancel the old one and send you a new one, and I assume it's a new number. That's atleast how it works with debit cards. Explain to the eBay seller your situation and tell them the money is on the way ASAP, most people are understanding. You should have the new card in a week or so.

That will cost her some money, if it is like it is here. 35?, iirc.

One thing I learned living here, stay on the line long enough and you can get any fee waived :D.

IIRC my credit card company doesn't charge the fee if you have an account in good standing with them. That might just be the company I have my CC with though.

Thanks for the advice, guys :) . I sent an e-mail to PayPal, I applied for a new credit card which I should receive within 2 weeks (no trouble so I suppose it's possible) and which will cost me ?11 (should see if I can cancel the old card) and I paid the Ebay seller through my dad's PayPal account (we share a bank account, so he didn't mind). So now I'm waiting for these plus some more, 20 in total (sorry to go OT):
