It's my 21st today and my fantastic parents got me a Nikon D70 :):

I'm still getting to grips with it, and tbh, the weather here today isn't great for photography (overcast and dull), but here are the best ones from my little walk around our village:

The quality of the images is much better than either of the digital compacts I've used before (not surprisingly) and it's great to have instant shutter response rather than having to wait for the electronics to sort themselves out every time!

I'm going back to Birmingham tomorrow so will take a few of the Bull Ring and the area around where I live there. Hopefully the weather will be a bit nicer :)

Here's some experimenting using PS and a photo I just took this evening :) Quite effective IMO :D

Great picture. It's one of my favourite effects, if not my favourite. I wish I knew how to do it.

I just used the poligonal lassou tool in PhotoShop. I think there is a better way of doing it though by excluding colours. I was going to look into doing it like that another day :)

That's awesome! Getting my SLR has changed my whole being! Well... at least it's changed my picture taking and reduced my hard drive space drasticly.

Anyways, good luck and enjoy!

That reminds me of the movie 'Sin City'. Good job!
