^ from what i hear, it is not...at least not the f/4 non IS version, not sure about the f/4 IS or the f/2.8 ones...

Only some are, and then only the newer versions.

That's the official Canon list, other lenses like the 70-200 f/4IS have dustproofing but not full-on weathersealing of all parts.

Too bad. Well, most of the lenses used by press and wildlife/outdoors photographers are on that list, so I guess it won't make that much of a difference.
