So here is the next chapter after long and only e34 ownership!
I'm not very active on the forums anymore but i like to keep a thread for it as a diary. (As is done with my other cars).

Car has done its fair share of km's (206 000) but seems in good shape and the perfect colour, i am the 3rd owner. Of course its not perfect, drivers seat has some small tears and PDC is currently not working.
As far as mods go, previous owner done a few of them i was gonna do myself like; front bumper, diffuser, taillights wing, exhaust tips, Nexus device head unit. Hood and bumper is also newly painted.

Plans so far; tinted headlights, yellow fogs, CF foil on interior bits, ecu retuned. Maybe some other wheels.

Bought unseen and had a nice drive over from Bergen to Oslo, a joy to drive!

Congrats. Looks like a nice example even though I've never been a fan of the "angry bread van" looks. Wheels really set it off.

Looking good! Congratulations! Sure must be fun over the roads you have.

Thanks guys, had the car a few weeks now and everything is good. Driven approx. 800km since puchase.

Done a few things to it.

One of the angel eyes went out on the way home when bought it so i puchased som new led ones. I also replaced the turn signal bulbs to osram diadem ones, i love the way they look.

That's a very nice looking 118d :) I enjoyed every second behind the wheel of my 118d a few years back.

Has the potential timing chain issue been looked at on your car?

the e87 got the new N47 with that issue in 07 and beyond, i have the M47TU2 which is the older less powerful but tried and tested engine, so i should be safe, from that at least. ;)

Don't forget the proof pic.
This slipped right past me. Here.

I wish we got the hatches on this side of the world. Looks great!

Thanks! Here is what ive been up to lately.

Th car came without the idrive system originally but the previous owner installed an android 7" tablet in an e8x specific shroud on the dashboard. He used the old 2012 nexus device which was super laggy so i immediately decided to upgrade it and personalize it to my liking, so i puchased the newer and much more powerful 2013 nexus device and set it up with a custom kernel and menu system. See showcase video below; its also possible to run a reverse camera and connect external storage for example. what i like about it is that its not outdated as an idrive system would be, live traffic with gMaps, spotify, podcasts++ a fully customizable with whatever you want. Negative sides are that it will never be as fully integrated as an idrive system with for example the controller wheel.

Next up is probably a new Professional HU, i already have the pro HU but i have no bluetooth connectivity so im swapping to a pro HU with integrated BT. i have the steering wheel with all the buttons for it and it should work as a PnP, hopefully.

I just realised, your taillights are aftermarket, right? I like these very much.

They're so shiny yet the car is so dirty. Stands out much

So since new years ive had the MOT test which it failed with corroded rear disc brake and fog lights. Pretty happy about that, i had yet to be under the car myself so i was unsure if there was any suprises lurking. So i fixed those minor stuff and passed the MOT today.

- did a battery change (car has been dead to me on 3 seperate occasions).
- changed engine oil, gearbox oil and to-be-done diff oil (didn't have the right socket).
- changed cabin filter.
- Had to give up on the air filter change because of some missing tools, pretty extensive job for an air filter! Going to attempt again.
- changed diesel filter, old one had a production date of 2014.

Full Castrol treatment.

Spent last weekend giving the paint a deep clean with claying and machine polishing. Finished by sealing the paint with GYON prime ceramic coating. forgot to take much progress pictures but i definitively took out a lot of scratches.
