Well.....

I've found out that the proper building of the house will commence next week.
So, I won't be packing my overnight bag just yet. ;)

Have just had an email asking if I want to do more building for the house next week, since am not working (bar 21st) have said yes - even though no James (probably) should be fun - will get pics if i get asked to go :)

Wonderful! I hope James is there, but even without him it should be fun and the weather forecast is pretty good for a change!

Can you and I trade lives for a while? Yours seems much more fun than mine.

Sure, if you wanna smash up your ankle, have 6 months of no income and now only be able to work a couple of days a week 'cause your ankle swells like a balloon doing a 10-12 hour day....;)
And i like the sound of your hubby, so if you throw him in.....

Tell you what: you can have an afternoon with my man if I can have an afternoon with James. Deal? :p

I bid one better. I will trade you a weekend with my bf. (It would take him that long to remember your name anyway. His memory is shit.)

Depends how good they both are....would have to be amazing for me to swap James! :p Not that he'll necessarily BE there and they haven't emailed with specific dates yet :(

BF is pretty amazing, but just to qualify that, I also love 99.

He has the weirdest ears and hands I have ever seen. Sometimes I wonder if he is an alien, but everything else is perfect.

Now that I think about it, maybe I won't swap him. Good luck on James actually being there though.

Events at Brookland are in full swing, there are some pics on Twitter, which for some reason can't be copied and pasted as images, but only as url's.

People arriving this morning. Looks like the weather is nice.

James giving the pep talk. He's taken a liking to that megaphone. :D

And two pics of the track being put together.

Edit: Oh dear, a few tweets about how the warm weather is causing problems. Still, the race is on any second now.

Some pics of James:

http://twitpic.com/e53ik Here he is talking to Diana Francis, the widow of the inventor of Scalextric.

http://twitpic.com/e52yl He's either very bored or overcome by emotions on winning whatever award it is. (Did he beat the world record? No update yet!)

Check out the guy's photostream for some amazing pics of the track!

Edit: News just in from the offical Scalextric Twitter Account:

We did it. A new Scalextric World Record. Well done to all involved.

James must be utterly pleased with the world right now.

Thanks for the updates. I cannot get the Youtubes to play. Are they country controlled?

OMG how gorgeous does James look in that pic? Think my hubby would mind if I taped it to the ceiling above the bed?

...probably so.

And, of course, a big congrats to James and the crew who pulled off a great feat! Still looking forward to the Lego house!

They can't be; I was able to play them just fine. Must be something wrong on your end.

Another YouTube video that shows what a great community event this was. Note how the dads are as excited as the kids. :p

 It's like a miniature running of the bulls. If only they'd had a couple of Lambos there; the pics only show an SLR and an Aston.
