Hi all, you've got a new Top Gear freak on (the) board... Downloaded the 6 latest episodes of Top Gear from another site, and installed BitTorrent on my machine yesterday to start d/l others...

But man is it slow! I know p2p is all about having many p's, I'm one more in fact but behind my own firewall, so it's not entirely set up yet.

BTW, the 6 episodes I have are top, top quality (stereo sound and all, 250 MB each), I'll probably be sharing them later on - when I've compiled and installed iptables-p2p.

Great site! Keep up the good work (and bump up the throughput too ;) )

Having your BT ports firewalled means that you can only connect to people who are not firewalled or have their ports forwarded which works out to usually be about 1/2 the people that are actually online with the file.

Assuming you have a router, forward the BT ports to your computer's local IP and you should greatly increase your speeds. But, it'll never be THAT fast unless it's one of the brand new torrents (with BT, old things tend to become slower and unseeded) and even then, it's still P2P. ;)

Anyway, welcome. :)

OK, I've just forwarded port 6881 to my machine since it is the port it listens to...

Still documenting on the protocol, I haven't had the time since yesterday...
