And pretty soon the long-trip range will match and then beat ICE cars...
You really think we'll gett 1200km from an EV "pretty soon"?

I for one don't think so. Because it's simply unnecessary. You really think we'll gett 1200km from an EV "pretty soon"?

The truth. It’s mostly down to usage and thinking patterns being stuck in ICE.Also people don’t need the range they claim to do….
Fine, I'll bite (again).I disagree, especially when you take into account the larger countries, or operations such as delivery drivers in the US who can do 200,000 miles a year. Someone's unnecessary is someone else's essential.
Now, the more important matter on this one, of course, are charging times. Not everyone wants to sit about for 30 minutes and "have a coffee or stretch [their] legs" while their EV charges. Some people actually do need (mostly just want) fuel stops that are no more time-consuming than existing ones. This is before the queuing situation when you get with such stops. A 3-400 km range is much more acceptable if it takes you 5-10 minutes to refill.
@lip , please also note we have several members that went EV and back to ICE. We're still on the very exciting phase where EV's are evolving in different ways. I'd watch this space over the coming years, see what developments come around. Meanwhile, the barking shall continue
That's nice and all, but while I get your point, there are ways to make it without being an asshole, ok buddy? So calm your tits and move on from this thread.So.....in your perfect little all EV world, what do I do when I want to visit relatives in the South of Spain ? 2.200km? Or if I fancy a quick holiday in the highlands? 1.800km? This EV shit is alright for you squares who don't have a life outside your boring wife and annoying kids, hell, you have been told to comply so you comply anyway, like good little sheeple, don't think, just follow, proper 1984 shit, congratulations........... but howbout us more intrepid people who value their freedom to go anywhere, anytime?

I think the critical battery temp was about 45C. Over that you get reduced power.Yeah I heard about this but it’s not like I’ll fastcharge it every day. I have a charger at home AND at work so it won’t be a real problem for me.
Even so, the ‘reduced’ charge speed is still 2-3 times faster than my Golf manages now
