Definitely agree. The I5 has its quirks but for the most part they are for the better.
Also, that display showing in dark mode instead of the light theme I've seen on 99% of those might make me want to reconsider one again over a Kona for my next commuter EV... Didn't realize you can change it.
So do I. It’s unobtrusive this way.I liked the placement of the charging port.
You can even set it to change automatically according to a set time. I like the dark one at night and the bright one during the day, since it’s easier to read in bright sunlight. The ability to change display to dark mode is easy to find in the car display settings, it was the first thing I changed when I picked up the car lol
Just for the fact these cars (Ioniq5/EV6) have a semi normal car controls and cockpit layout I prefer driving this over out Model Y (which my wife drives most of the time)

I don't think I've seen any that do that. Model 3 switches automatically at sunset/sunrise, I believe the C-class and the A5 I had before both did the same. Fixed time is a bit weird, given how much variation in daylight there is between seasons.Shouldn't it change together with the automatic headlights or something, rather than a static time?

Seems like that would make sense, with daytime/nighttime changing litterally every day, but apparently not possible in the Kia …Shouldn't it change together with the automatic headlights or something, rather than a static time?
well ACTUALLY...- car REALLY doesn’t like going over the speed limit. Did 340 kms yesterday, on the first stretch I did 120 on the cruise control, average consumption 18 kwh/100 kms which is to be expected. The second stretch I did 130 on the acc and got 21 kwh/100 kms. Which, if you think about it, doesn’t make sense
Well it makes mathematical sense I’m sure. But on longer trips doing 130 kph and then charging more doesn’t add up. In the long run, driving a tiny bit slower (not really noticeable to be honest) will get you THAT much further.well ACTUALLY...
if we say at those speeds the main thing causing additional consumption is purely the aero drag, which goes into the equation as the square of the speed, we get, for the assumed consumption at 130 with a reference of 18 @ 120: (130/120)^2 * 18 = 21.1 kWh/100km. So that actually makes perfect sense
It doesn’t bother me the whole black/white screen thing but maybe in winter I’ll need to adjust the timing, as it’ll be dark way before 7 pm….I really need to test drive one of these, not that I'll be buying one I just want to try it.
Day/night screen is odd, I don't see any reason why it couldn't have automatic switching. Even Waze on aftermarket CarPlay head units could do that several years ago and I doubt it's the only example. It was just seamless in the Model 3, I didn't even notice it. I never really got used to the lack of screen in front of the driver, always felt like that was needed in some form. A HUD projector would've been fine.
