...But with a Difference.

I've ripped using DVD shrink and I have AutoGK ready to convert to AVI BUT.

I have no subtitles when the original has subtitles (Option Volume 13)

Any ideas ?

well make sure u r ripping the subtitles from the dvd itself. A lot of programs pre-set it so no subtitles rip.

If you'r sure it's there. then autogk should pick it up.

I use a much more intensive method to do my dvd ripping. dvd-rb using CCE 6 to 10 passes.

But to rip to xvid, i use autogk. works like a charm. subtitles rip. make it say forced subtitle or into its own file.

I've used DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink and neither have ripped the subtitles even tho I've set it to rip them aswell ?

It's wrecking my head !!

Has anyone ripped Option International Vid's before ? Have plenty of them that need proper backing up ...

It's been a while since I last did DVD ripping in Windows, but to get subtitles in a movie, I remember using DVD Decrypter to get the vobs out. Then from there I used SubRip (available at http://zuggy.wz.cz/) to grab the subtitles, and VirtualdubMod coupled with DVD2AVI through avisynth to process the video and throw in subtitles as hardsubs. I processed the AC3 sound using heada3he. A bit complicated, but it worked for me in the past. You can check out doom9.org if you want a lot more dvd ripping information and/or software.
Or if you're feeling GNU-ish, mencoder will do pretty much everything, once you learn how to use it.

what DVD shrink did you use? there are 2 i think, one which rules, and one which sucks.

it should be "easy DVD shrink" (don't remember the name of the other one)

I've asked it somewhere else but how do you rip dvd's o and create a menu as well... its quite frustrating to scroll through 1 episode to get to the next
