Took almost the whole summer to put the car together. Although it could have been done faster, I rather do things slowly taking my time and without cutting corners.
The car is a 1999 Ford Contour SVT. For people from Europe who probably haven't heard of this car, it is basically the North American sibling of the Mondeo St200
There are a lot of FWD haters out there, but once they watch some touring car racing, they might change their mind. (this car is far away from being a touring car, but it is a well set up car for some serious track action)
It'll be no pig in a straight line either... On the 1/4 mile, it should be able to pull a 12.9x - 13.1x easly (atleast that is what we are aiming for, and with proper tuning it is easly achievable, since we have already done a 13.5 @ 104mph witha similar set up car, and on the first run without launcing hard and being properly tuned, this car has a shorter final drive, and less weight which it'll help out getting even better times)
Mod list as follows (as much as I can remember)
Drivetrain:
- 3L Duratec 24v DOHC engine (same engine found in Ford Escape's and also Noble M12's, Noble's are Forced inducted)
- Mondeo ST220 Upper Intake Manifold, Ceramic Coated
- Mondeo ST220 Lower Intake Manifold
- Custom Intake
- 65mm Ford Mustang Throttle Body
- Contour SVT Cams
- Clevite 77 Performance Bearings
- MSDS Headers
- Custom 2" Stainless Steel True Dual Exhaust w/2 Magnaflow Mufflers per bank
- 26lb Ford Mustang Injectors
- Custom Return Fuel Rail
- Quaife LSD
- Capaldi Racing Straight Cut Final Drive
- Spec Stage 3+ Clutch
- Spec Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel
- Moroso Racing Oil Accumulator w/Electronic Valve Unit
- Misc OEM Ford parts and Mods to get the SVT Cams to work with this engine (ie timing chains, tensioners etc...)
- SCT Xcal 2 for Tuning
Suspension, Chassis and Brakes
- Koni Yellow Struts
- Ground Control Coil Overs
- Custom 6pt rollbar
- Custom Subframe Connectors
- Willwood Four Piston Forged Billet SuperLight Calipers (front)
- Two piece 13" Coleman Rotors (front)
- Two piece 11.75" Coleman Rotors (rear)
- Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
Interior & Misc
- Battery Relocated to the trunk (Optima Red Top Sealed)
- Corbeau Forza Seats
- Corbeau 3" 5 point Harness Belts
- Sparco 333 Black Suede Steering Wheel
- Sparco Tecno Shift Knob
- Blox Racing Lightweight Aluminum Lug Nuts
Wheels
- 17"x7" OZ Racing Superleggera wrapped with 225/45-17 Falken Azenis RT215 (street)
- 17"x7.5" Kosei K1-R wrapped with 225/45-17 Avon Tech-R Slicks (track)

The Heart
Engine finaly in the car. Valve covers are taped up not to damage the bling bling 3 stage metalic powder coating
The car sees daylight after 2 months
Meeting it's older brother for the first time
OMG!!! where is my face?
Interior is almost back together
Front end back on
I hate the stupid long North American bumpers
Sun is shining
Exhausted!
Baseline Tuning starts!
It is finaly idling on its own, plated, insured, and trying to break in the engine/clutch etc...
Before it gets sent to Steeda Canada to get fine tuned, the weather turned for the worst, and it is stored for winter until spring 2010
