hm - well no suggestions for that... but... you could switch to keyboard :mrgreen:

The secret is you have to use the lowest gear possible as second or even first. You should also avoid getting into a 90? drift - doesnt work in a long drift...

Now I end up using first gear, with lots of smoke but going very slow.

The other guys here go in 3rd of even 4th gear, with lots of smoke.

:shock: i do the opposite in order to have a longer/smokier drift 8)
of course its very hard to controll at those gears, but practice makes the master perfect & a low gear ratio :)

when i drift reverse bw, then 1st corner with my gear ratios is 3rd, next corner from 4th into 3rd, then 5th to 3rd for the shickane, then 4th to 3rd before straight, and more or less the same when i turn around
fastest (and hardest) one is the corner at the finish line in reverse, im going in 6th, then kick the clutch at the top of the slope, shift down to 4th, hopefully make the transition, and down to 3rd again for the first corner

hmm... I've tried Drifting on some demo servers... never got the hang of it... couldn't keep the car under control :lol:
 
i have a really good layout for drifting, but that wouldnt be suitable for our races cos the map is full of objects and u can go in several ways which could be confusing...

we need something wide and simple, just 2-3corners or sth like that

I finished a little layout. It's quite simple but also tricky to drive ;)
First corner is long and theres a lot of space to do anything you want. Braking into next corner needs a bit of practise - the way out should be long enough. The last bit is not very easy but I think everyone can get through it.

its a bit tight imo, but as a "map" and layout it could work real nice, just widen it a bit at the end cos its gonna be tough for 2 cars there

here's my proposition for the drift contest. this is the begining of a track i made for me and mancs, especially for double drifting :thumbsup:
i deleted the rest cos its too long, but like this its quite good i think. its wide at the begining like yours jan, then its a 180degree corner still wide. i find this really good because there are several lines u can take, and thats gonna be interesting for double drifts cos u can attack already at the begining :twisted:
its a few corners, one of them is sort of "tricky" cos its easy to spin, but thats just good from a racing perspective :) the course is in general easy, so drift "beginners" should be able to take it ;)

anyway, let me know what u guys think

here's a replay of mancs and me on the track i suggested ;)
when we drift together with mancs we like to change positions, so i start, run the 1st corner wide, he runs inside, overtakes me, then he runs wide, i overtake him etc :)
we messed up the end, but its quite ok. at least u can c that its quite a good track for double drift with possibilities to attack/overtake :thumbsup:

I'll follow this thread, if you have dates and times, lemme know I'll make a seperate thread like the weekly saturday races. You could do it yourself of course, I don't mind, but I can copy my layout real easy.

Maybe you want some racing rules as well?
