Not exactly sure what this is, but I would guess it was never a NYC taxi. That would have been a Checker Marathon (or the like).

On my travels in Portugal I ended up parking in an underground car park, then came across this unexpected relic. I had no idea that these things were even sold in LHD and outside of the UK. WTF @captain_70s ?


I went back again two days later and it was there in the same spot, clearly someone works in the area. I parked my disappointing T-Cross rental next to it.


It was gone when I got back after eating and there were oil stains all over that space, brilliant.

They were sold in a few European countries, France, Portugal, the Netherlands and Italy definitely got them, probably a few others. There was actually a stash of NOS spare panels found in Portugal a few years ago stored in a former BL dealership.

There are at least two that have been imported to the States!
