Saw a red 550 today in rain, what a beauty. Guy was shifting from 2nd to 3rd I guess, glorious sound. Love that car.

Sorry, no pics.

i saw this m3 at school today and thought it was a csl (it had the words to the left of the m3 logo).

when i got closer, i saw it said bhs instead of csl (also the csl is usually on the right of the m3). like this:

anybody know what this is?

you can kinda see the hood scoops or intakes near the bottom of the hood that a normal m3 doesnt have.

sorry for the crummy quality...cameraphone

i'm in houston, so you're probably right superswamper. that's kind of disappointing, i was hoping for some one off sweet factory tuned m3.

Probably so

Well, those look like CSL rims.
But isn't the CSL supposed to have a carbon fiber roof?
M3 CSL has glass panaromic roof, not Carbon Fiber. And those rims are probably 18" and not original BBS 19 inchers.

It's definately not a CSL. Infact, NO CSL made it to North America. They're not street legal here. Same goes with CLK DTM AMG.

But I've heard there are a few DTM AMGs in U.S.

lol! You completely destroyed me there!
Didn't know about the panoramic roof. But comparing the rims to the photo you posted, I can tell that the rims were smaller...

BTW, I'm just curious... But why aren't the CSL and the CLK DTM street legal in NA?

The CSL is 110 kg lighter than a normal M3.
A glass pano roof would have been completely against the idea of the CSL, as the L in CSL stands for Leichtbau (lightweight construction), e. g. the trunk floor is made of cardboard, the bonnet is made of aluminium and the rear window is thinner than in a M3. And obviously they put a carbon fibre roof on it, which weighs 6 kg less than the normal roof and lowers the car's center of gravity.

The CSL isn't legal probably because of those tires (semislick), dunno why about the DTM.

I have seen a CSL and it does have a CF roof, and so does clarskon say that in TG
