I can trump that :p

I actually own a used race tyre from a Peugeot Le Mans race car! Envy me!

Here's a question for those of you from Eastern Europe. Every time I see video footage of cars and vans of the area, this van always seems to be part of it... and I'd quite like to know what it is. I don't recognise the winged logo, for a start. I'm assuming it's Russian, but I stand to be corrected here.

This is a screenshot from Michael Palin's New Europe, when he was in Bulgaria, which is why you can see him in the passenger seat. It was the clearest view of the van by miles.

I've scoured Autosoviet, which seems to list every vehicle that was ever made in Eastern Europe during the communist era... only I still can't find this van!

It's a UAZ 3962 (a.k.a 452). 4x4 and 92hp.

They are becoming quite rare, probably just 1-2 in every city. I haven't seen one in real life for years.
I assume there will still be a lot of these in Russia.

H?pla!

There's no wonder I never saw it on Autosoviet - it's not mentioned, and UAZ was the first page I looked at. There's a tiny, grainy picture of a 451 flatbed, but that's the best they could do.

My father actually knows McNish pretty well. He's been a motoring journalist for 20+ years and knew Alan from his karting days up in Scotland. Because of that we were invited as guests of Audi. Might go this year as well, really hope so. So you envy that, mate. :p

But I don't have any tires from any of the cars so you got me there. :)

I love old Bimmers.

Don't mind this one, I can't see anything on my phone's screen when outside on a sunny day, so I couldn't tell that the car wasn't completely in the frame until it was too late. Oh well, it will be at work again tomorrow.

Finally a possible explanation why Homer_Bart's pictures are always everything else than centred and even. ;)

^ It is American. It probably wasn't supposed to have the huge gaps, it just sort of happens. :p

I love that Type III up there.

I saw a continental flying spur the other day. they are so common that I don't bother with taking pictures of them. And after being driven in one, I don't see what the fuss is about. In fact, the owner of it said that he would rather have a lexus or Merc as a luxury car, but they are too common.

but in orange county, I saw a continental flying spur centipedeing through traffic with another continental gt.
