Other Random Car Sightings [Photo Required]

She has the money, that's probably why she bought it.

that H1 looks like its ready to go to kill an elephant or something

Today was both a very good day and a very bad day for carspotting.

This is a megapost, be warned...

Right, first off I found a Renault Avantime - a very rare exec. car in the UK with wonky doors and it looks like a Vulcan.

http://img214.imageshack.**/img214/3994/avantime21nx.jpg

Then, wandering on, I found an interesting creature - a Lotus Elan!

http://img214.imageshack.**/img214/809/elan24nd.jpg

I'm not too read up on the Elan, but it looked nice. But it's backside was too big.

Next we had a CLS, which is rather nice :

and a rather nice Alfa GT. You poor people who don't get any Alfas in the US! They're stunning. Even the basic 156 saloon car is gorgeous.

Another non-US car, this is one of my favourite cars. I want one, preferrably with a V6 shoehorned in - the Fiat Multipla! Only one pic to save your eyes from scarring.

http://img67.imageshack.**/img67/8601/multipla6fb.jpg

A new first for me - my first Bentley Continental Flying Spur - it looks nice, but from certain angles the front is too Merc C-Classy.

http://img67.imageshack.**/img67/5733/conti21nl.jpg

Since you in the colonies are only just getting your Golf GTIs, here's a pic for you - I saw 4 on the 45 minute walk, so I don't count them as rare here anymore.

http://img67.imageshack.**/img67/3858/gti7si.jpg

And one last car that I found - a rather mint Jag XKR supercharged.

http://img67.imageshack.**/img67/6847/xkr3qk.jpg

That's not the end of the story though - you don't get away that easily! I was sitting on a bridge over the motorway that runs through the middle of town, seeing if any nice obliging exotica would blat past, when this happened - three lorries in the outside alne had a massive pile up. :/

http://img67.imageshack.**/img67/1865/crash14qd.jpg

http://img22.imageshack.**/img22/9317/crash25wx.jpg

http://img22.imageshack.**/img22/6348/crash38qv.jpg

Luckily, nobody was hurt and the rather-smoking lorry [and the leaking tanker] didn't explode. All three motorway lanes were closed off, all the traffic had to go down the hard shoulder. And my name/address was taken down as a witness to the whole thing. Wunderbar!

Whats a day without some drama?

Great post, whereabouts in the Motherland are you from?

Glasgow, Scotland.

All the cars were snapped on the walk home from the University to the town centre, with the crash being on the M8 - the main motorway through the city centre. Bet the commuters were pleased!

Close enough. There's one in Hamilton, which is kinda a suburb. Linky.

Last time I looked there was a DB9, several 911s, several Conti GTs and a CLS outside. No Flying Spurs though.

What do you study?
I had the oppertunity to study in Scotland, but I rejected St. Andrews, because i didnt like it. I had a rather strange incident with a professor of Glasgow there during my schooltime, I would have never gone there

OK, I had a funny discussion with owner of this 996 Carrera4S...

So, she bought some produce and crap from store and wanted me to take them to her car...and lack of space I had to put them on seat. (All black leather interior)

Then, she told me engine is in middle in front (she even opened hood to show me) and there's no space. Then I asked, so what's in back then?
Maybe your husband left his "Tool Box" back in there...(No I didn't say that really) but she didn't answer my question anyways.
So, I said engine is in back of car actually, but she changed her mind and said NO, ENGINE IS IN UNDERNEATH. whatever....Bye. DAMN
You gotta love these owners...
:wall: :wall: :wall:
This sort of thing makes Ferry Porsche cry. Probably just bought it because her secretary friends told her it looked cool.
I bet that's her daily drive. She probably has some exotic/luxury car in her garage, too.

Yeah I rekon, good findings! Love that Bentley!

@Salar - Oh the CLS man....wasn't it just bliss! Oh I love it in that colour with those AMG 5-spokes. Just beutifull.
Nice findings as usual. Damn now my sightings are gonna continue to look so shit

The purist in me hates big, heavy cars...but whenever I see a CLS, I want it more than anything.
Here's an Elan I saw a little while ago...

lol, the engine is under the car. How small does she think it is.

Nice Alfa btw, too bad we don't see many in Canada or the US.

She doesn't think. :?

And yeah, that Alfa was nice, I hadn't seen one of those 60-70's Julieta(?) before.

But there are actually whole bunch of spyder's running around.

@SL65, dude, gotta love all those Mercedes V8's S/C sound. Fabolous.

C55 was pure badass. Too bad AMG's are automatic. :|

Well... in the past 2 days have been rather interesting for me. I wasn't going to post it here, because I didn't have any pics... but I (sort of) got a photo of one of them today, so here goes:

Yesterday while waiting for a bus I saw a silver 575 Maranello go by... I see this particular one quite a bit, so it's not a big deal. But then while I was on that same bus... there was an dark grey F430 going the opposite direction... first F430 that I've seen. Unfortunately no pics of those two. BUT, tonight as I was driving home I pulled up to a set of lights, heard a very nice sounding exhaust beside me, looked around... it was a [Edit:  wrong car. I think it was a 456 ] First one of those that I've seen too. Anyway, I was beside him, first in line at every red light (and every one was red) the whole way down Burrard, for those who know the area. He floored it a couple of times off the lights... it's a crazily fast car. Way better looking than I thought it'd be too.

Anyway, here's my best pic. I got a few others, but since it's night and I was using a camera phone, they didn't really turn out. This was going across the Burrard bridge... the two cars in front of us both ran a red light at the end, which made my day driving home. BTW, the driver wouldn't have been more than 30ish.

It must suck witnessing all of these nice cars from the window of a bus, huh?

Nice.

Are you sure it's not a 456?

 Think you're right. I had a look at some pictures, and the tail-lights don't look like a 612. Thanks for pointing that out.

Well, it does. But, technically, the F430 was the only one that I saw from the bus... :p The 575 I was waiting for a bus, and when I saw the 456 I was driving. I just can't afford to pay for parking every day, or get a yearly pass. Stupid UBC and their U-Pass incentives... :)

Well whenever I see a nice exotic pass by, I just rev my puny 2.0 litre engine and pretend I'm driving a navy blue F430... it helps a little bit. Yeah, I'm gay...
