So after looking at cars today, the wide and i have narrowed the search for the new car to the cars in the thread title...we ruled out the liberty wagon as i didnt feels as good (quality) as the outback (for the same price).

We only got to test drive a Forester XS, bit of a waste really but now i know how it feels to drive something so tall.

Ive never had a turbo car and thought this would be a great chance to get one, but fuel prices are horrendous. Is the XT a bad idea?

The reason the outback comes into th picture is because we are replacing a commodore wagon and we already have an impreza GX.

Oh, man, how can you rule out the Liberty? It is the most beautiful car in that segment by far. Quality issues? Have you had a knock on the head?:bangin: Maybe you looked at a dud...

If you need the room, go for the Forester.
You'll love the height inside and the luggage capacity.

If I remember correctly, the Forester XT was a project car in Sport Compact Car (one of the guys' father had one) and it shared a lot of components with the WRX which could be upgraded with STi parts to improve not only power but also road manners, making it sit a little lower with stiffer springs and other things like that. The XT is already quick to begin with but trust me, if you need the room go for it and then you can tune it to be quite the potent curve carving ride.

Only upgrading the front sway bar on my ride to the Mopar sway bars front and back made me forget quite a few inches off of how tall it is.
I can only imagine what trick you could pull with a souped up AWD Subaru. :woot:

If you need a wagon/tailgate/lots of room, don't do it half way and get the real deal.
