The LFS devs have decided to release the latest test patch as 'official' patch. It does not have new physics or Scirocco. It's a compatible patch. It has quite a lot of changes and fixes even though it's still the same letter with added numbers.

updated to Z28, crack/keygen didn't work so I installed Z25 again.

I'm waiting for them to release the new circuit and scirocco before buying the game.

No, an insult and neg rep (wasn't me, but should do so anyway) for blatantly admitting that you're ripping off the hard working developers of one of the best racing simulators on the market by cracking the game. It's only 24GBP and you'll get to race on real servers instead of the woeful demo servers and their crashers.

I apologise for the accusation, thought you neg repped me. My bad.

I've explained this in the past (one of the older threads) about buying/paying for games & applications, so instead of starting an useless debate, I will stop here.

You guys are on the same boat in terms of pirating... yes, don't act so innocent  Unless you have 0 illegally downloaded files on your PC(mp3s/apps/video etc), everything you guys said have no significant impact on pirating.

24 GBP is a bloody rip off for a game like LFS. For that kind of money, I'm expecting it to be backed by a reputable company like EA Games, with constant updates and mods available to users.

I would also like to apologize. Calling you an asshat was harsh.
Well, someone neg repped me...if it wasn?t you, it was someone that likes you.
Back on topic: I am not trying to convince you using the "piracy is wrong" argument. Blame the local game industry, but to me 24 pounds is kinda cheap! Any PC game here costs at least 40 quid, and since I play Live for Speed A LOT, I thought it was worth paying for. The fact LFS is made by a smal company is, to me, more reason to pay for it.

You DO get constant updates for LFS. How many EA games out there get free patches after 7 years of initial release? Not many I can tell you that.

With LFS the money also goes directly to the developers and they are not a big corporation either, so one person buying the game matters more. The money they get from selling LFS is the money that keeps food on their table. The developers really put their heart and soul in to the game too, it's not just a job for them. 24GBP is quite cheap for a game too.
EA on the other hand churns a bunch of games per year, which most of them are really just minor updates to older ones. They charge a lot more money and the life span of the games are lot shorter. And EA is not going anywhere even if one or two of their games flop.

I can't say I have totally clean slate with the piracy issue, but I always support indie games like LFS, if I do like them. With EA it doesn't really matter if the games get pirated because their annual turnovers are measured in millions anyway. Unlike with indie games where the game sales can determine if the developer can eat.

While it's entirely up to you whether to buy the game or not (but I don't generally endorse using pirated versions), you have to understand that EA is for the gaming industry what multinational corporations are for the real goods market.

EA can outsource parts of a game engine to Indians, Chinese, whoever, cheapskate their way through and then re-release the same thing a few times making "sequels". With a lot of money in store they roll in a huge media campaign and sell millions.

Independent developing companies based in Europe can not afford to sell a game targeted at a very specific niche for the same money, and offer the same level of support.

Look at the economy, learn some basic things - how multi billion dollar international corporations are killing local businesses, and you will see a similar pattern.

I guess you have some time to wait then? And imo your completely wrong that LFS is a ripoff for the game. Paid LFS few years ago for 24gpb. Did i pay anything else? no, did I get free updates/content. Yup. Doesnt EA produce a new NFS version which you have to pay 60 euro's for it? And I guess because its EA(multi national company, you can pirated it anyway or not?)

Sad thing about this thread is I try to defend Scavier ( Scawen, Eric, Victor, the 3 developers of the game) and I get an anonymous neg rep for it :hmm:.

But yes Buba, you should join in some small leagues to get yourself back into racing.
