Petrolheads is the new BBC panel game show along the lines of "Have I Got News For You" - but about cars and all things car-related!

The show is to be hosted by Neil Morrissey with one of the team captains being Richard Hammond from Top Gear. Other top celebrity guests to be confirmed.

It will be a humorous look at the world of cars, testing the panellists' knowledge of motoring.

If you are into cars, loads of fun and celebrity guests, then this is the show for you!

Sounds good. Except Neil Morrissey? Whos f**kwit idea was that to have him? What has he got to do with cars? After seeing Jeremy on Have I Got News For You, it should be hosted by Clarkson, with Richard Hammond and James May as team captains.

Still, I'd like to see that brought to America, without any rappers involved.

C'mon, you guys gave us tea, Junkyard Wars, Trading Spaces, and American Idol (sort of)! :p

I've always liked While You Were Out better than Trading Spaces :p ;)

they also gave us big brother, vomit

I went to the recording of the pilot show at the start of the year. It was bloody awful. Painful even. Having said that, Neil Morrissey was one of the highlights, he did extremely well with the worst Dad jokes I've ever heard and only had a couple of outbursts of expletives!

This was the show where Hammond bashed his own 928 with an Orion, and that was the funniest part of the evening.

I still reckon Richard needs to brush up on his car info a bit more remember on one of the Top Gears he had problem saying a lot of info for one of the cars. He had to drive people back in, then he goes into a shop too do a bit of brush up on the info.

Come on, cut him some slack! He is probably just like you and me, he knows LOADS about exotic cars, but how much do you know about an old Volvo Estate. :p

I'd like to point out that Big Brother has been brought to you by this little malicious European country better known as the Nethelands.

I too went to the pilot ep - someone owed me a favour ;) however I wish I had never wasted my evening, it was complete drivel, :x a good idea yes but in terms of it actually being played out it was very very poor. I hope if it has been commissioned they have a better presenter and more interesting guests.

My god I thought Morrissey was completely abysmal truly truly rubbish, they could have had someone far more charismatic and knowledgable to host rather than him. :|

The dude from Viz was WAY worse than Morrissey, he needs getting rid of.

I fear dear Moo that a series has been commissioned.

Don't forget Rough Science. I really like that show.

Junkyard Wars, I loved the show! (The old ones, the newer ones sucked IMO)

They sold out to the Every-Show-The-Same Hollywood morons. Cathy Rogers made millions on that deal, though, and deserved it. What a great show. My company (WildRail Motor Sports www.wildrail.com) put a team together and we were scheduled to appear on the show during the 2003 season, but by then they had sold the franchise and eliminated the team concept. In my opinion it was the teams that made it great to watch. I'm sure Rogers is disppointed in the way things turned out.

Well lets hope they ditch Morrisey then before the proper series, he was only on the pilot so it dont mean he has to be on the seieres. Because, as much as I'd like a gameshow about cars, if he's on it then I doubt I could bring myself to watch it. I just can't sand him on anything, he's awful. He is just not the right choice for a show like this. He's an actor, not a presenter, most acotrs make rubbish presenters, in the same way presenters noramlly can't act. He's not a host and he just has no place on a car show. As I said it should be Clarkson. But if he don't want to do it, then Richard or James should host or even get Tiff or Vikki or Quentin Wilson, someone anyone, other than Morrisey.

They could have The Stig (an extra dressed up as him) one week on a team just sitting there not saying anything, would be funny

That would never work since Clarkson always wins everything. ;)

Can anyone steer me in the direction of some Torrents for this series? I caught the one with Richard driving blindfolded into the Ferrari (was it the same one from their supercar challenge?) and I'm not sure how many episodes before that I've missed.
