1998 A4 1.8T. Its been chipped, lowered, and given neuspeed suspension. Today me and two friends cleaned out the interior and gave the exterior a nice bath. Paid 5900.

I love it. The chip gives it a big gain. Ran against my friend's mazda Mx-5 (2006) and started putting lengths after 65.

Im putting in an eisemann exhaust, and a carbonio intake in the near future.
A big turbo, and RS4 front/ rear bumper in the distant future, and.. AT Italia wheels by winter.

Looks good. I'd be interested in knowing how reliability and stuff goes in a sub $10k Audi, so maybe I bump this thread after a few months.

Have (safe) fun with it.

Nice car,as mentioned before. Only thing is that I'd take the A4 and the 1.8T badge off the cabin - any particular reason for putting them there?

Nice ride and it'll be complete once you put those rims on :)

I noticed you removed the tag where you state that the ML's is your dads :p

Get those badges out of the interior asap, it ruins almost everything. How much power does it have with the chip?

Nothings says "classy!" like taking an exterior emblem and applying it in the interior.

Please remove that.

Agreed.

That was the work of the previous owner. Not me =P Ill remove it.

My brakes started squeeling, im going to go for brembo cross drilled in the front, plain in the rear and porterfield pads all around.

Sound decision IMHO. Great job on the car.

ditto :D

A manual transmission in USA? How common is that? And what kind of winter tyres are you gonna use, is it legal to use studded tyres in the wintertime? I mean with QUATTRO + SNOW is very fun combination...

Finnish tyremark Nokian has a little text on the side of their summertyres: "ALL SEASON NORTH AMERICA"
Wouldn't wanna use them in Finlands winter... or any winter.

For the past 3 winters I have used Nokian Hakkapeliitta 4:

Next winter maybe Hakkapeliitta 5:

They are plenty of manual versions in the US but there are also alot of autos.

quick question about the steering wheel, on the bottom is that an "S" symbol? my friend has the exact same car as you do (excluding color, mileage etc) and he has the same S logo and he thought it was the work of the previous owner.

Nope A4's had the option of a trim that came with that steering wheel, I love it, its really nice leather. Today I found out that the APR chip thats in the ECU gives the car 200hp 245torque, thats a huge gain over stock. No wonder I beat the NC miata haha.

haha, No way man, the winters aren't that bad in New York City, im going to go for All seasons and most likely the older style RS4 wheels, im beginning to like those over the newer style RS4 wheels.

Get some studless snow tires. The sticky compound they use provides uber traction even on dry surfaces. :D (They sadly wear out faster though.)

More. 1996-1998 1.8's had 150 stock, 99.5 had 170 or 180. Its crazy.
What I love most about the car is the handling. The steering response is incredible.
