Fluke667 , being a right honorable gentleman, care to make me a .gif from this weeks top gear (Ep.08x03) from 8:24 - 8:29?? I ask you because it's obvious you do the best work around. Thanks soooo much.

tell me if that's ok (it's hard to stay below 100kb with a lot of movement in the scene)

1024kb is the limit on imageshack :roll:

Fluke? which program do you use?
My first go useing Ulead Gif Animator, but its crap. I cant add topgear vids either becuase they have too many frames.

A breif tutorial would be nice :)

1. get Ulead Gif Animator 5
2. start the animation wizzard
3. enter the original resolution of the video -> next
4. klick add video -> choose video -> specify duration -> klick open video -> next
5. choose framerate (24 or 25 frames/sec) -> next
6. now that the frames are extracted you can manipulate size (e.g. edit -> resize image)
7. klick the optimize tab and try different settings (e.g. photo 64 instead of photo 256) until you've reached the desired size and/or quality
8. check the result by klicking the preview tab
9. save file as .gif
10. enjoy 8)

feel free to ask questions :)

Cheers Fluke. :thumbsup:

I have struck a problem. Any time i try to change the duration (which is a must with topgear..) Ulead crashes. My computers not that bad.
Any suggestions on what program i can use to cut a section out prior to using Ulead.

:bangin:

Speaking of avatars, fluke667, LOVE that shot of May. Absolute gold mate!

Heres my 2nd attempt:
135 Kb, so a little big i reken, but nowhere near your quality fluke.
I got it off the best of fifth gear supercars. It didn't crash Ulead for some reason :unsure:

anyways, Thanks for your help ! :D

i don't think i could make it look a lot better...
scenes with a lot of movement and/or smoke, sparks etc. are hard to compress

e.g http://img501.imageshack.**/img501/635/g559qc.gif lots of movement/spray -> very short clip
romans avatar on the other hand
13959315364426b84590ce2.gif
the car is not moving most of the time -> much longer clip
