Pontiac GTO vs. Subaru STi comparo

LOL yes, but I'd really like to see the new VW Fox up against that H3... Can't decide!

I think the Fox has a better fuel economy! but we'd have to do complete tests to find out!!! :bangin:

On paper, the GTO looked tough to beat. A 400-hp small-block V8, six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive ? what more do you need? But the more we drove these cars on the edge, the more we realized that the STi was the real deal. It held its own on the drag strip and flat-out smoked the GTO through the slalom.

Really...

Although it's built in Australia, it's so American it makes Tommy Franks look like a Communist.

Hmm ... suppose even if Oz

The Holden Monaro or other HSV and the Ford FPV is often pitted against the little subby. Not really direct comparison (even though it sometimes happens) but they would be compared to one another everynow and then.

We invented the muscle car many moons ago. It's the perfect American car, big, RWD, with a big V8 up front.

I think it's great comparison, cause these are the big cars in the low 30's range. I mean you can compare the STi to the Evo, but they're pratically the same thing so ho cares. This is a comparison of opinion only. The STi is nimbler and more sure footed, but the GTO makes a great noise and is more fun to slide. Which do you want? Logically I'd choose to STi, but there's something about the GTO that makes me doubt that. I know the engine uses pushrods and it's 400 lb-ft to the rear wheels so it'll be all over the place, but I want one.
