PORN! caution: don't enter without high-speed internet

and it's a huge misconception that an ambr winner and other show cars are trailer queens. for the most part, they cars are driven regularly, especially chip foose's creations. they're made to be drivable.

they're made to be paradable

you can't drive em hard

It's quite impressive how Foose's design seperates people into two groups - those who loves it and those who hates it.. :)

Must admit i'm not liking it. Doesn't do anything at all for me. I've never been able to see why so many people think tha Chip Foose is so great.. He has never made anything i would spend my money on.

But it's a matter of taste, whatever floats your boat.. :p

intresting, the lights make them look like old citroens.

i guess customs and rods are a distinctively american tradition. i figured even if they weren't your cup of tea, you would still be able to appreciate the craftmanship and artistry of the vehicles.

i think it's a big reason why american cars today are so cheap. automakers know that a good portion of the cars will be customized. they give us a good, base car to work with. whenever i buy cars, i don't bother getting all the options and whatnot, because i'm going to be changing everything out anyways. stereos, wheels, sport bucket seats, auto tranny, floor mats, sat nav, "sports packages"... i don't bother ordering all that junk, because i'll install my preference of aftermarket products anyways. we love making things our own.

the same could be said for japan and their cars. customizing is huge there, although they do it a little differently than us. in europe, it seems people buy their cars and that's that. if they want a "hot rod" version, they just buy one from a factory tuner.

well, if thats called beautiful in the US, they should see some of those european cars they make these days. Should be a suprise to see whats really good lookin. But for me, I rather drive around in a Nissan "Scrotum" Micra CC

That car fails to capture my imagination on any kind of level. I'd rather take a Micra C+C too.

This Thread needs more Cadzilla ;)

Here's a car much more my style. Modern street version of the classic Indy roadsters
Engine is a Ford 2.3 Pzev engine. I can't find the pics but there is another one like this but
with an oldsmobile quad 4, looks like a classic offy engine with the cover removed.

There's an ever growing resentment of People like Foose, Trepanier, BOYD CODDINGTON. Their Idea's of rods are "more billet!" Boyd went to extremes with it by building the Alumacoupes (he's built several, one with a mitsubishi 4g63 warmed over by mitsubishi themselves, in the back of it).

Those guys are by some people opinions to be taking hot rodding away from the very people who are true hot rodders. Those who want to go fast and not spend a lot of money.

There is something wrong when a 32 Ford costs $30k+ and it really don't look much different then the 8 it's parked next to. This is why we have the "Rat Rodders" now.

The problem with AMBR/Riddler cars anymore is if they aren't built specifically to win that show, they can't win. That IMO instantly makes a car and the award given to it, irrelevant. Cadzilla is cool since it's built like it was meant to win shows (and it did) but was meant to be driven and it was driven as soon as it was done... across the country.

Yeah almost all of the Tauruses, Civics, Camrys and Dodge Neons on the streets there are completely modded into MAD STREET MACHINES!!!!

are you kidding me? neons and civics are two of the most popular tuner cars in the u.s. and japan. the civic is an iconic tuning car.

These things are awesome, but let's face it. They're a dime a dozen.

Umm, 'fraid not.

A Foose creation will run you upwards of $100,000 depending on what you want done. If I had the money I would pay it.

Yeah, but that's a Foose. There's hundreds of cars that look just like Foose's roadsters that won't break $40,000 at any auction.
