Porsche to build Freelander rival?

Thought there was a design rule that stated: The high of the cars body has to be less than the high of two of tiers. Those tiers are huge!

NO NO NO!

Bloody awful.

btw: Why do they call it a coupe :?

It's got 3 doors and a coup?'s roofline. If you smallened the massive wheels and removed the 4x4's "up in the sky" stance so it was right off the ground, it'd look like a coup?.

4x4 coup?s though rarely work. As Porsche has proven again.

i like it. its similar to the toyota RSC concept.

these kind of cars are basically non-existant, but i want one to be made correctly. this kind of car should be an EVO type of car on stilts. a brisk rally car that could do a little actual offroading.

Looks like the VW Concept A, so that makes this car more likely to happen, as they'll just pop that body onto the same platform.

It certainly is proper competition for the Spyker 4x4 in the design dept. :yucky:

good lord , is there any hope for non-rappers

Forget the Porsche (I wish I could... so long good dreams)

But that pic just made my day

pfff, freelander is week

i would like them to make a rival for the defender or sth. i have no problem with porsche penetrating other markets, but they have to make sure they're among the best, and you can't be with a competitor for the freelander

Atleast Toyota's RSC Concept looks like it could be a good base for a Dakar rally car. The more squared design also makes it look way better than this Porsche nonsense..

My god, that thing is truly awful. It looks like a fish that's being bummed by John Prescott.

Thing is, the Defender [and the G-class Merc] are made for one thing - being the best vehicles possible for offroading. It's part of both Land Rover and the G-Class's heritage.

Porsche has specialised in cars that go fast, not cars that can go anywhere offroad. A Defender rival would be proof to me that Porsche really has jumped the shark. A Freelander rival, with a little off-roading experience, but is primarily designed to rip up tarmac onroad, makes some sense.

I'm not so keen on the second half of the article, the bit suggesting that the car is part of a new offshoot of the 911, an 'offroading' 911. That, to me, goes against all the values of the 911.

what about LR all of a sudden making the RR Sport? Since when has a range rover needed to be much more road oriented? Porsche DOES have past rally experience, its not totally unjustified to make this type of car.

s it really that bad?

it kind of reminds me of that spyker 4x4.

Lol, they already sold 114 from those  so i guess this would sell good too... but hell its ugly :yucky:
