There's some serious decoding work going down on the Steam forums. I think these guys could have cracked the Enigma Machine in a couple of days :lol:
 
3.11 (March 11th) is the BBS version number that you can dial into. March 11th is the announcement date that was supposedly about Episode 3, but maybe Portal 2 as well!
 
perhaps they're working on a Orange Box 2? the first was such amazing value for money (it still boggles me to this day how they got all those games and charged it all under one banner price along).
The first portal game was simply amazing and was one of those games that just completely surprises you in how well thought out it was. very original but also very different.
whatever valve has got planned, i'm more than willing to shell out a bit of dough for some more portal goodness.
 
This reminds me of my Introversion days when they, makers of Uplink/Darwinia/Defcon, would set up really complex easter egg hunts for their community. They didn't go as far as having to convert and decode sound files into images, but they still took a lot of code cracking and such to find the answers. One of the pieces of the puzzle was a file you had to get off Kazaa.
 
I just love how insane people are with Valve files these days. Every update they put out gets worked over with a fine tooth comb and in no time you get voices, images, recordings of the dev teams etc etc. It's just all insane.
