I sure there are a few here that are Portishead fans.

If you're not familiar, the Bristol, UK-based group consist of band founder Geoff Barrow (previously worked with Massive Attack and Tricky), and vocalist Beth Gibbons. They're responsible for such songs like Glory Box, Sour Times, All Mine, and Only You.

Anyway, reportedly they are back in the studio from a long hiatus recording a follow-up album.

Contrary to speculation due to their longtime inactivity, Portishead are still very much alive. It's been eight years since the trip-hoppers' self-titled sophomore record, but the Bristol, England, group has nearly completed its third album. Portishead will play a rare live show with Massive Attack at the Bristol Academy on February 19 to support tsunami-relief efforts.

I can't wait. Between this and the new Sigur Ros album that may come-out this year, this looks like 2005 will be a great year in music.

Great piece of news, that one... They're one of my favourite bands!

Yeah, nice news :D
I like this band
Their songs are so melancholic and planing

To wait the next album, i have bought Out of Season from Beth Gibbons with Rustin Man (bassist of Talk Talk), did someone listening it?

I have a (rare?) live called 'Welcome to Portishead', am I alone? I never seen it before in shop

Yeah, this is great news! Since Portishead went on hiatus and Massive Attack started to suck there hasn't been much good trip-hop around at all.

Portishead's live album 'PNYC' is still one of my all-time favourite live albums. :music:

I saw their PNYC DVD at the local record store one time. I'll have to grab a copy of that sometime.
