Yep, 4x108, I have a set of spare steelies aswell. Found 2 power steering pumps for sale, now I just need a steering rack + coupe of hoses from a power steering model. The good thing is that parts from a Ford Scorpio bolt straight on, and pretty much all of them had power steering, so I just need to find a wrecked one of those :) After fitting these, my steering will go from 4 turns lock to lock unassisted to 2.5 turns lock to lock with assistance :)

EDIT: I now have the power steering pumps, still need hoses,a steering rack and new fanbelts to make the car winter ready. :)

Still haven't taken it in for an inspection.. Today, I decided I should finally address the front wing. Spent about 5 hours sanding, bondoing& primering it, and it's now ready for some spray on primer, a sanding & and then finally paint. Also found quite a bit of botched rust repairs in the drivers side rear wheelarch :( It's not TOO bad, but it still pisses me off..
The dampers in the rear were way too soft before, so I adjusted them aswell. They were just 2 "clicks" from the softest setting. Overall it's 34 clicks from softest->hardest, and they are now 12 clicks away from the hardest setting, so pretty close to the middle. Should make breaking out the rear a bit easier :) Im sure they will need fine tuning, but Im sure they are better than before.

Atm the car is on jackstands with no rear tires, front bumper, headlights, etc. on, I'll post pics tomorrow of the results of the front wing repairs.

EDIT: Just put the car together again, going to get it rechecked tomorrow. The front wing is now the perfect shape, just needs a little bit of smoothing out. When putting the car together I moved the bumper a bit so the new front panel will fit better when I get round to fitting it.

Going to give the whole car a wash, and clean the windshield very well today, cross your fingers for tomorrow. If I don't ps the Mot, I'm going to have problem because I need to pick a girl up on Saturday :p

Passed ze MOT.

Also, the chassis of the car is in amazingly good condition rust-wise. it's only rusted a bit from a few select areas on the body panels. The only places in the car with rust are: Drivers side rear wheelarch, under the drivers side doorseal and under the boot seal. They all require a bit of welding, but atm they are covered with seals and the plastic wheelarch cover, so they don't blemish the car. I've rustproofed and zinc-coated all of them, so it's not going to spread anytime soon.

Going to buy a center console and a new parcel shelf for it today, will post pics :) Also, Im most likely going to change the windscreen, even though it's not necessary, it's fucking annoying not being able to see the road properly.

EDIT: Oh yeah, there was a mint blue 4x4 Sapphire Cosworth in line before me at the MOT place, made me very jealous :\

The first pic is of the old setup. The gear knob in the pics is temporary, I repainted the original one and haven't gotten round to refitting it yet.

The electric windows& rear cigarette lighter are not wired up yet, I need to get window motors and some more wires before I can hook them up :)

Won the bid on a new steering wheel! The winning big was the grand amount of 3? :p It's an old Astrali wheel that just needs new leather to be in mint condition :)

Alright, a bit of updates on the car:

The new steering wheel is painted, and It'll have new suede covering in a while. Bought a an old Formuling steering wheel aswell, im going to modify the bracket(or whatever it's called) to fit to the Astrali, just need to wait for it to arrive in the mail.

Quicker, power assisted steering is on the way, just need top pick it up and get some hoses& new fanbelts.

The big news however concern the engine:

I won't be turboing it anytime soon.

...but! I will likely be modifying it in NA form. I've been offered a new ported cylinder head with a 265 degree camshaft, polished valves, etc, along with a new steel 4-2-1 exhaust manifold.. Altogether with a bit of a tuneup It would be nudging 150hp :D Which, considering the current cam is worn to hell is about a 50(?)hp increase. The head has not been lowered+ the cam is reasonably mild, so if I ever want to turbocharge the car they'll work really well with that setup aswell.

New lsd won't be coming in a while though, it's just too expensive.. I'll probably fit one next year along with a new gearbox&clutch. The current one works somewhat on gravel (and presumably snow), and only has a little whine at 80kph+

Power windows & a new windshield will also be fitted.

Atm I just need to wait for the mail to deliver parts to me :)

EDIT: I now have a welder! :thumbup::clap:

EDIT: For the record, this is what the exhaust looked like when I bought the car:

New head&cam coming before winter :) I was going to get an exhaust manifold aswell, but it won't fit after I fit the power steering pump :(

A bit of an update on the interior:

As I most likely won't be able to get power steering for the winter, atleast I could compensate by swapping out the horribly slippery stock IS steering wheel (3 spoke one) for a better one. I bought a new steering wheel mounting bracket thing, and for the same 10?, I got an old Formuling wheel aswell. It A bit of rattlecan flat black and 5? worth of fabrics later:

http://img232.imageshack.**/img232/916/img2551m.jpg

It doesn't look as scruffy as it does in the first interior pic, the second one is a bit better at showing the wheel. It's a lot more grippy than the old one, and it's about 1cm bigger in diameter, so a bit lighter to steer aswell :) Overall, perhaps the best 10? I've spent on the car so far.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the steering wheel was hand stitched, and it was a bitch to do.

didn't you make an alcantra wheel or something?

I have a more expensive Astrali wheel aswell, that's getting the suede/alcantara treatment.I cant find alcantara anywhere at a reasonable price though, so I just fixed up the POS Formuling for now. It turned out far better than I expected, so I need not hurry with the Astrali :)

Let me know if you decide to get rid of the Formuling wheel ;)

I will get rid of it once the Astrali (in the first photo) is finished. I just need to find old suede or alcantara trousers/jacket to get the fabric from :D Alcantara is stupid expensive to buy new. Took some new photos of the Formuling, this time after a bit of a cleanup and without a flash. Also bought something I've been meaning to get for a long time, a new windshield :)

This project thread is slowly turning into a monologue :(

Oh well, I finally found a pair of taillights that are the same colour (at one point I had 8 different lights, and you couldn't make a single decent pair out of them.. I had ones from Germany, france and UK in varying conditions..) The ones that I have now are not 100% the same colour, but frankly, they will have to do..

I wonder what these might be..?

New taillights (had to spend 2 hours sanding and buffing them to get them that shiny :))

This picture shows the problem with the old lights. They were different colours, and the right one was very faded..

New lights on the car: Not perfect, but close enough :)
