Issue:

Noticed a very dim battery light with the high beams on. Under heavy braking, the battery light will often flash brightly right as the car comes to a stop. Tested battery, found that the battery was bad and replaced.

Still have issue. Interior lights slowly dimmed and then glowed brightly after hitting a bump. Very noticeable squeaking from the alternator. Tested output voltage, found it at 14.10V, drops to 12.60 (+/- 5 volts) with accessories and lights on.

Just wanted some opinions before I pull the alternator. Does the issue sound like the alternator or a loose connection somewhere?

It sounds like you have a short or high draw somewhere (probably both), and probably one or more loose connections.

Edit: Also, check your grounds and the exciter wire, that may be part of the problem.
