My partner and I went to watch Top Gear being filmed back in Febraury. It wasn't until we arrived that we were told that although the video footage will have been seen before the links were being re-shot for the american market to change things like pounds to dollars, petrol to gas, boot to trunk, bonnet to hood etc etc.

I have heard subsequently that these episodes never made it to air. Is this correct?

The video footage we watched whilst there was the V8 Audi doing the London to Edinburgh and back on one tank and the Hammond and May spend a night in a Smart.

Can anyone confirm if these ever made it to air and is it possible to download a copy of the internet. Would be cool to try and spot us there.

Many thanks

Yes, I remember the 800 mile Audi diesel segment being played here, but i'm almost positive the Smart segment wasn't aired. I know I missed one episode while it was here in the states so maybe it was in that one.

I definitely remember the Smart episode being aired. They were out in the middle of the woods with the Smart. I think it was the last epiode aired by Discovery if I am not mistaken.

I was also at the filming of TG USA and haven't managed to find any episodes yet. Hopefully this board will prove useful!

As sad as I was to see it go off American air so quickly, I am much happier now with all the BBC episodes I have been watching. Are these out on DVD or will they ever be?

member-made DVD is available for download, no official ones though

just a warning to those who are in the Uk and havent seen them, the camera crew was apparently either using other cameras or the operators were different because they're all close up shots to fit the 4:3 aspect ratio and you barely see the audience :(

I have most of Series 1, ill throw them on Mininova later tonight.
