Not my achievement, but to congrats to my parents. Married 50 years today. :)

Got confirmation - passed trial time at work, now on unlimited contract :). Time to buy a stupid car. Adrian is most helpful, sadly...

To be fair, it is easy to shop for cars and get Adrian'd while sitting in a hotel room in Brazil for a month (yes, I am back here AGAIN).

Finished my university studies. At least for now. I'm now a Master of Theology. Though I'll have to wait till December to get the papers.

I had a bit of a stress during the last exams about keeping my grade as high as it was after the first ones, but I am glad I managed. I got 5/5 for my primary subject exegetics (I specialised in argumentation and rhetorics), and eximia cum laude approbatur for my masters thesis.

... and another update about a half year later:

I went into the new job and contract perhaps a little naive ... didn't really question a lot of things because everything seemed to be better than my old job ...

... and now I have to say ... I'm very lucky, because everything (with a very small exception) is better than before!

They pay good money for a job I like to do ... the colleagues a very nice ... I had to hit the ground running because I was replacing someone who had left the job 5 months before I could start working, but I managed to do this ... I knew I would have to report directly to one of the directors of the company ... what I didn't know before was that this CEO would be japanese who isn't speaking german and has an "interesting" english accent ... I never had to use my english work-related before, but this works for me, too. Yesterday I met the german CEO in the staircase and he told me they are happy to have me ...
The worse thing about my job is, that I have to drive about 40 minutes to my workplace (15 minutes to the old job) ... but I spend my time listening to a lot of awesome podcasts ... I never found the time to do that before ... so that's not really a problem

"On a side note": I'm going to marry my girlfriend end of january and we are going to be parents end of march ... Yay!
 
Today I start my new job as Assistant Curator at the Petersen Automotive Museum.

Job hunting for the first time since 2009. Sent out I think 13 applications, heard back from 4 of them so far, scored 2 interviews. Let's see how this'll play out.
