Post your computer desk

whats with the monitors on their sides? :D

Perfect for playing old-school arcade games (Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, etc.) which were 4x3 monitors rotated on their sides.

Also good for reading documents full-page, same shape as a page of paper. A trick I picked up from desktop publishers.

Jesus. You must have an entire level of your house devoted to your computer electronics.

Most of it is stuff I used back in the day (the 600XL was my first computer) some of it is stuff I collected. Rather than throwing them out I saved them. They were sitting in my basement in boxes for the last 11 years since I moved (and sitting in boxes in my old place before that). I decided to finally get rid of all the crap from my move and that freed up space, I used the space to make a game/exercise room and to also display wares of years past. :)

Not pictured: the other 2600 variations (two-switch woody, darth vader, 2600 jr).

Bored at work... Kinda blury, phone on camera is being weird.

Someone try and guess what I do, and you'll get a cookie!

I had a friend who said he camera phone was screwed up and taking blurry photos. I "fixed" it by cleaning the greasy fingerprints off the lens.

You are watching this thread, off course. And taking photographs. While being paid.

I want your job.

That's fine but you need the operating system to detect that you changed orientation, like a Tablet PC or an iPhone.

You can always use the plain old manual option... Not that hard actually, just clicking something ;)

My 'new' desk! It's actually a typewriter desk (the middle section flips up and the typewriter was stored there, see later pic) from probably the 50's or 60's, is extremely heavy, and it barely fit in through the door. It even has a time period matching light attached to it, how cool is that! I just moved it in so it hasn't had a chance to get covered in junk yet, but I do have some random stuff on it, like a Tiki man. I made the green elephant in a middle school art class and found it when I was cleaning the room to make way for the new desk. I forgot all about it and I love it! And some Ford GT's for good measure. I'm planning on painting the whole desk in the somewhat near future because I don't really like the battleship gray look it has now. I'll be sure and post some new pics of it when its in the new colors.

There's something about old-school heavy duty that has awesome appeal. The battleship gray makes it look gritty and hard-edged; it has its own charm, IMO. Keep it that way!

Nope, you just need a graphics card that lets you rotate the image. Most NVidia cards will do that.
