I thought this might be fun. Go through the decades (including this one) and post a favorite car from each one. You're only allowed to post ONE car per decade, and you have to include pictures. Also a brief rundown of why you like it.

I'll let you skip the earlier decades if you want (before the 50's).

I will defer mine till later .

Aaaaaaaand go!

Hmm, maybe only as a foot-note. But this should primarily be about production cars I think.

So no concepts? My favorite 30s car is a concept. But I'll have to think about the rest.

I'd have to think about everything before the 1940's, though my list after that is pretty solid :). I will reply once I've done some research because I may know the cars from the 1910's to 1930's but I probably don't know their names and when exactly they were from :p. I'm not gonna lie haha.

Well, alright. I'll change the rules a little. You still have to post one production car but then you can also post a concept or alternative car (race car or prototype or what have you).

I'm going to start from the 30's since I care so little about the cars made before that.

You're even more James May than James May. :D

I can answer for all the decades with just 1 vehicle.

AWW YEAH! Uh... hmm...

I'm still thinking about my list, let me get back to you on that :p

Heres my list. I don't know how accurate the list is since there are lots of cars from every decade that I love.

1910s - Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost
http://img152.imageshack.**/img152/5227/rollsroycesilverghostatcg3.jpg

1920s - Mercedes-Benz SSK
http://img152.imageshack.**/img152/6334/30mb710ssktrossiroadstetd4.jpg

1930s - Duesenberg Model SJ

Phantom Corsair
http://img165.imageshack.**/img165/7181/1938phantomcorsairxb3.jpg

1940s - Tucker 48 Torpedo
http://img156.imageshack.**/img156/858/48tuckerfw9.jpg

1950s - Cadillac Eldorado
http://img527.imageshack.**/img527/5602/1959cadillaceldorado102qg3.jpg

1960s - Lamborghini Miura
http://img147.imageshack.**/img147/3687/icd10050251we5.jpg

1970s - Plymouth Road Runner Superbird
http://img527.imageshack.**/img527/5893/bh5eb3n4vc4.jpg

1980s - DeLorean DMC-12
http://img80.imageshack.**/img80/3705/img9979mm3.jpg

1990s - TVR Cerbera
http://img369.imageshack.**/img369/8963/800pxtvrcerberaarpsv3.jpg

2000s - Way to hard to decide

1950 - Mercades-Benz 300SL
800px-Mercedes_300SL_Coupe_vr_silver_EMS.jpg

Highly radical design. One of the first true modern supercars

1960 - Aston Martin DB5
astonmartindb5frontside61.jpg

So cool it could re-freeze the ice caps.

1970 - Porches 911 Classic
800px-Porsche_911_2.4_001.jpg

OK so it did begin production in the 60s, but was mainly built in the 70s and thru to the 80s. the 911 became the new yard stick for sportscars

1980s - BMW E30 M3
BMW_M3_E30.jpg

One of the very first M cars - Started something amazing

1990s - Aston Martin Virage Vantage.....no Mercades-Benz CLK-GTR, fuck it, Both.
Aston%20Martin%20Vantage%20Le%20Mans-2.jpg

It was an absolute brute! at one point it was the most powerful car in the world.
Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR
clkgtr.jpg

So good it ruined a racing series, kind of the underdog to the McLaren F1 though. Lots of Carbon fibre, big V12, best car Merc made so fair IMO, better than the SLR because the CLK-GTR knows its a racer. not a luxary-racer-hybrid.

2000s - Koenigsegg CCX
Koenigsegg_CCX_parked.jpg

Sweden's finest export! Its very impressive, and prettier than a Veyron or a SSC Aero. Full carbon fibre body with a very modern and quite experimental twinsupercharged V8 makes a noise that makes me need to buy more tissues!

EDIT: I am aware I broke the rules on the 1990s, but its hard to choose, there was awesome cars in the 90s. TVRs, McLarens, Ferraris, Porches, Audis, Bentleys, the list goes on

Oh god this is a tough one....let's see. After some careful thinking these are my picks. The 1950's and 2000's were by far the most difficult ones to pick. 1950's having Ferrari 250s, Aston Martin DB4s and such glorious things. The 2000's have just too many to list. 1990's went down between Ferrari F355 and Porsche 964 Turbo..I truly didn't want to make this choice...A fantastic topic by the way !!

1910's Blitzen Benz (it's 1909 but close enough)
1909-Blitzen-Benz-1280x960.jpg

1920's Ford Model T (What else could it possibly be)
1926-ford-model-t.jpg

1930's Duesenberg SJ (for me also)
1935_duesenberg_sj.JPG

1940's Porsche 356 (obvious choice)
1948%20Porsche%20Nr.%201,%20356.jpg

1950's Cadillac Eldorado (Yes, I did pick this one over DB4, 250 GT, C1 ?Vette and such....this one would be the one I would feel most comfortable sitting in, since I am a rock'n'roll person....it's just uber cool this car)
58366840.hbbc0602loDSCN5508.jpg

1960's 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (easiest choice of them all being my favorite car of all time. And yes, I am aware that the one pictured is an "Eleanor" Shelby GT500 and not a full blown original '67)
richards-1967-ford-mustang-super-snake-elenaor-gt500-cover.jpg

1970's Aston Martin Vantage (Remember James May's review of this ?)
USA_vantage_cosmetic_1.jpg

1980's Porsche 911 (930, I can't have the 964 Turbo since it was introduced in 1990  )
porsche_930_for_sale_1.jpg

1990's Ferrari F355 (After a very long fight with myself I had to ditch the 964 Turbo over this.....just look at it....so beautiful)
Wallpaper%20(Ferrari%20F355).jpg

2000's Porsche Carrera GT (Sssooooooo hhaaaaard to choose. But If I were to be a megazillionaire, the Carrera would THE 1st car made in the 2000?s I would buy and everything else only after I got the Carrera GT. Therefore it has to be my no.1 pick.

Yep, thats about right, I love simple cars and luxury cars, if you put a luxury interior in a cheap car you are on to a winner.
I am probably the only person on this site who would admit to liking the Vanden Plas 1500!:D

1910 - Ford Model T. Partly for it's significance in the auto industry and alot of the T bucket!

Are racing cars and land-speed record cars allowed?

Lets forbid racing cars, landspeed record cars, nonproduction prototypes/concepts/one offs/trucks. That will spread the field too wide.
