Post Your Watches

I know, it just looks out of place to me. :)

I love the hidden topo map on the back of the strap. It looks more comfortable than a corrugated pattern while helping your skin breathe.

Yeah a topological map around Mt Iwate in Japan.

That's a very neat detail!

A Grand Seiko chronograph that isn't an asymmetric monstrosity? Though it's still quite large and bulky, even if the all-titanium case makes it lighter.

Yes, I'd rather it was a bit smaller, closer to 42mm, but I have to see it in person.
I really like the SBGC223, but 46mm is a bit much, and the GMT hand and having the sweep wasted on the tiny subdial are turn-offs for me (I am not a fan of the power reserve gauge either).

So yeah, this new one is closer to what I would like.

Picked up a Horus brand fitted rubber strap for my Mission to Pluto, pretty much my go to watch now when I take my kid our for weekend sports/other activities.

Picked up this microbrand time only 3 hander watch from S Korea, Pitzmann's second model, creatively known as the Pitzmann II

Great dimensions, 40mm case, less than 11mm thick, 150M WR with screw down crown and with a modified Sellita SW300 movement with 55hrs. Fully lumed.

Uninteresting story:

Was at a friend's BBQ house party over the weekend and met a fellow watch nerd who complimented me, of all pieces my Seiko SCC-909 Speedtimer on the wrist. From his compliment, I could tell he was a fellow man of culture.

On his wrist he was wearing a Lange Saxonia Thin 39mm. He was cool and let me try it on for a couple wrist shots. What a lovely piece. Further reinforcing my desire to obtain an ALS as my first high horology piece 👍🏼

I just stumbled across this thread. I'm not sure this will be appreciated here, but here goes. I do have a watch, a 44mm Series 4 Apple Watch which was handed down to me from my brother back in the fall of 2020. Here it is sitting on the MagSafe Duo charger:

This is the watch face I use most of the time, it's simple and does the job very well. It also saves the battery, this being an old watch, five years old and still on its original battery by the fall this year, battery is not great at 77 % battery health. However, I still manage to get through the day just fine on one charge.

It came with the standard adjustable sports loop, which I used continuously until October last year, when it started getting very worn around one of the mounts (see below), I therefore bought one of the braided solo loops after having gotten my wrist measured up and the right size. This was a bit of a pain, as it was by then common knowledge that they stretch over time, so I went with one size smaller than recommended, which was a bit tight at first, but got fine after a couple of weeks. I bought my third band last month, they are the same length (size 8) which means it stretches a full size over time. There is also a reason why I picked the "Pride Edition" though. I normally don't do "virtue signaling", but after having read so much trash talking about Pride and Pride Month (or every time a rainbow flag appears somewhere) in the weeks leading up to it, I just did it to give a finger to the haters. Additionally I also think it's nice and colorful, and regardless of what I wear, it always matches up with one of the colors in the band.

Before the Apple Watch I used to have a Pebble. First a regular one, then the Pebble Time Steel. I was kind of pissed when they were bought and essentially shut down by FitBit, so I kept it going for as long as I could but eventually migrated to the Apple Watch.

Heads up for anyone with a Costco nearby. Timex Q GMT for sale at most Costco locations now 👍🏼

So my GS SBGM241 was running way too FAST after a return from international trip (30-35+/day vs the normal 4-6 sec/day) and high suspicion of being magnetized. Thanks to the recs of many in the group I bought a cheapo demagnetizer from Amazon, followed this basic YouTube tutorial

And it seemed to work like a charm. Checked my watch over the last 2 days with on/off wear and it's back to 4-5 sec+/ day 👍🏼

Switched the bracelet on my Seiko SCC-909 Speedtimer over to a StrapsCo rubber strap, fits well and looks good 👍🏻

Went to a local watch owners meet last night and among the coolest pieces I saw among various collections was this Credor Eichii II (variant with Roman numerals on the dial) and the new Ming 37.04 monopusher chrono.

PSX_20230901_090045.jpg

Good lord, while I think Ming is a cool brand I never really wanted any of their pieces, except for this one... Of course I have to desire one of their more unattainable models (both in quantity and price) 🤣
