Hey everybody!

I just got a new black cartridge for my Canon BJC 6200S (thats with ink). And while it was a cheap one, it should definatly work... Somehow it doesn't...
The thing is, I haven't used my printer for 2 years now, and I suspect something is wrong with it because of that...

I already did all the things in the service register when you press print, but it didn't help anything at all, the sheets are still coming out completly white...

The more recent Canon Printers I've used have had print heads independant of the ink cartridge. This means that the cost of the cartridge is less. This is why HP ink cartridges cost a lot - as well as the small pot of ink you also have a fresh print head with every cartridge as part of the cartridge.
However, if your Canon printer has the print head separate from the ink tank, and you've not used it for a couple of years, then it could be that ink has dried up inside the print head blocking the nozzles.
If this is the case, you could try cleaning the print heads, though it would be better to get new print heads (not sure where you can get new print heads from, I'm afraid...).

I'm assuming you've tried the maintenance function to clean the print heads?

Yeah, sure, I did... The maintenance thing, I mean...

With separated print head and ink tank you mean, it looks like that:

I assume?
Then I'm gonna try and clean that shit...

Sorry I took a while to reply! Cleaning car, etc.. (as I can't be bothered to pack (I'm moving...:( ) ).

Right, yeah, the minty green coloured plastic holder is the bit where the ink tank sits normally inside the printer. On the underneath of this is the print head - this is where there may be dried ink clogged up. Be careful though as the print head can be delicate. You should probably also try to clean the bit we can see as well which connects to the ink tank outlet...

I've not actually done this myself in a long time (so can't remember the results) but you may want to try cleaning it with some white spirit, (isopropyl alcohol? Not the stuff you drink...) if you can get your hands on any...

I hope that's of some help to you....

I'm off to watch Battlestar Galactica! :)

^^ Thanks mate!

So far I onyl cleaned the whole of it water... But carefully, but thoroughly...
I'll try it a bit later, and if it doesn't work, I'll use some alc...
