Are you trying to open the file or save it then open it ?

Either way try the opposite to what your doing, or give us some more details as to what your doing.

Yah with the amount of problems that you seem to have, you might want to think about reformatting and reinstalling.

Yeah that's what I did with my old computers, every half year burn the essential files on a disc and reformat the bitch so it's nice and clean...

^ That's what I hate about windows.
Everything lands in Windows and Program files directories and the worst invention ever: the registry.
I liked it much better the way the old Mac OS worked: one System Folder and a Preferences folder.
To get a "clean" reinstall with that, you just needed to move the preferences folder out of the system folder, reinstall the system folder, and move the preferences back.
No need to reinstall any applications :) .

Yeh I couldn't do it anymore now, I simply have to many programs..lots of stuff for school, I'm happy I just bought myself a new PC at home and a laptop that have never failed so far :)

ever heard of ghost? takes an image of your system, and when it's fucked up, you just overwrite everything (including registry) with this image = format + all programs installed within 1 hour

This only works if you never install new programs after using the computer for a long time (say a couple of months).
You also lose all your settings changes that you made since you originally ghosted it.

^true, that's why i don't use it :p

for some reason its fine now, but thanks n e ways. it worked again after i turned off the ocmputer over night. probably nortan fixed the short cuts or whatever.
