Progress on my Top Gear coffee table

I would suggest you get the block powdercoated. That would make the finish very durable, as well as easy to clean off (just wipe it down). They can even coat it in a matte finish if you like that look... or just shoot clear on it so that you don't have to be polishing the bare metal finish to keep it looking good.
