Well if you want a racingsim, check MY section ( 8) ) for Live for Speed, it's the best game you can get. Handling is refined as you've never played.
I haven't been playing it often but it had me every saturday 5oclock racing all the guys from FG.

GT4 is the most obvious choice and probably the best one. TOCA race driver 2 is also very good, you can race pretty much anything from sportscars, touringcars to trucks and 4x4s.
Since you like Pimp My Ride you should check out Midnight Club 3, DUB edition.

Another choice is the Need For Speed Underground series...ricers and imports and some mad upgrades available. I'm hangin out for the new one though when you can get your hands on some Germans: ie- M3 etc...

Well, Vice City isn't exactly a driving game, or not just that, at least.
Like everyone is saying, GT4 is THE racing sim for PS2. Even Jezza agrees with that... But if street racing is your thing, forget about NFS Underground series and try Midnight Club 3. It's everything Underground 2 wanted to be and didn't achieve. Plus, it's got a wide selection of cars (no M5, but there is the Porsche Gemballa and a few Mercedes AMGs), and also of bikes and SUVs... and of course tons of customisation options to rice your car.

GT4, NFS series, Midnight Club DUB. I am more of a fan of NFS coz I don't have a PS2 and therefore never played GT4
since u playing vice city and think of it as a racing game, u better try GTA San Andreas.
