Who is already playing it?!?!?!

It'll take me half a day to download this but i just can't wait.

I'm waiting till my fast adsl arrives before i "buy" my copy.

I'm affraid if when i play it it'll just be another reason to hate my computer.

Wish I could say the same, gonna buy it when some money floats this way.

When you guys get it, tell me what you think of it.

I'll have my computer magically aquire it within a few days and then pick it up from the store if it's good.

Highs: Loads of action; gruesome visuals; Q3DM17 with Doom 3 graphics.
Lows: Uninspired gameplay; Stroggification plot twists goes nowhere; no multiplayer bots.
Bottom Line: This old-school shooter suffers from 21st-century game design.

70%

I don't think I'm going to bother until I have nothing else to do. :|

Why would you "aquire" it if you can't play online with it. Or can you ?

You probably can't play online with the "bought" version. Cause you don't get a unique cd-key. If you "buy" something is mostly for the single player experiance.

And i believe its a bit more interesting than it was in q3.

You can play it online guys. there's a way to do it, look hard.

I think the best way to describe it, is Q3 moved forward with a single player mode added. The single player mode isn't too bad, but the multiplayer remains excellent. For me, Quake was always the best multiplayer. Unreal was always lacking some of the magic that Quake seemed to have and Q4 doesn't dissapoint. It's excellent, still frenetic, picking somone off with a lucky single shot with the railgun is still as satisfying. To update ESPNSTI's quote, I'd give Single player mode 70%, Multiplayer mode 90%. The graphics are far better than Doom 3 too. There's the games like FEAR and Conter Strike where you have to play more seriously, and personally, I think CSS is excellent. But the good ol' fragfest shooter is still alive and kicking, and Quake is still a massive cut above the rest.

Shame on your get out there and buy it with your own money.

Gamespot opinion: 8.0/10 - http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/quake4/review.html

The Good
Sharp single-player campaign; Some of the best graphics around; Weapon upgrades make you rethink how you use your arsenal along the way;

The Bad
Multiplayer sticks too close to Quake III's blueprint; Kind of a resource hog; Vehicle sequences are a little too basic;

The single-player is great fun, but the uninspired multiplayer leaves a lot to be desired.

Definately good enough for my to purchase it. :)

It's in my queue. I'll max out the graphics and post some screenies when it gets done. :)

urg.... quake 4 sucked!

I never liked the quake series because ppl just spawn camp like crazy. It's not even close to as good as CS 1.6 is!!!!

I've been playing cs since beta 6. Still playing it non stop. Best game ever.

I already uninstalled q4 too because i can never see myself playing it again.

Gonna finish the single player and then delete it. It's much better than Doom 3, but it's still not all that good. Worth playing, but not a keeper.

I'm glad I wont be writing software for a living...

I never held much hope for Q4 (but then again I never really liked Q3 or Doom 3), I'll probably rent it when it comes out for the xbox360 (since i'm dumping all of my current computer upgrading budget into an xbox360).

What drives me nuts are the stupid vehicle controls. I mean, W should be forward, not the direction you're looking. So used to driving tanks in BF2 that have turret independence. I mean, to dodge shit in Q4, you have to look to the left or right basically.
