It is to be recoreded in hometown of Bergen, Norway. Don't know a releasedate ..

Album title "The Understanding", first single "Only This Moment".

Remember some of you had some questions about their next album in "what's that song" thread in a FG thread earlier ... so, there ya go :)

"A Nordic blast of downtempo electronica will hit hot American shores on June 28, when R?yksopp release The Understanding on Astralwerks. It will be released in the UK on June 27 on Wall of Sound. When asked by European music industry magazine Music Week how the new album differs from their previous outing, the duo said: "Even though the last one was called Melody A.M., this one is even more about melody."
R?yksopp also revealed in the interview that the new album was more forward-looking than Melody A.M., which was heavily reminiscent of 70s soundtracks.

Lead single "Only This Moment" will be unveiled in the UK on June 13. R?yksopp are currently slated to perform at KCRW's World Music Festival, taking place at the Hollywood Bowl throughout the summer. They, along with Basement Jaxx, will headline the festival's Planet Electronica event on July 17."

Yeah, Remind Me was good, especially with the video. You don't often see videos that good. :(
 
Yeah I bought the album on the basis of Remind Me, but then I discovered that the one on the CD is completely different to the radio version that was being played on JJJ. But, the CD one was equally as good, and so was the rest of the album.

Well, Torbj?rn Bruntland is not exactly from Bergen, but I guess they've usually been "from Bergen" when making music as R?yksopp. Isn't he from the Troms? area? Think maybe Svein Berge is, too...

Torbj?rn Bruntland did a lot of other cool music, like Those Norwegians and Drum Island (both excellent!), before they had commercial success with R?yksopp. Also worked with Bel Canto, I believe.

So if you come across that name, you're almost sure it's going to be something good :)

I know, but they record in Bergen. It's taken from the official "press release" ..
