Perfect! They can hire him to improve the snore fest that is SkyTV's coverage of F1 now that he is available. I'd say go to the BBC, but that might be a bit tense at the moment.

Is this an F1 engine in the background? (Avengers: Age of Ultron spoilers)

Looks to me like a V8 F1 engine without an intake manifold, but I'm not that good. Anyone care to try to identify?

No, it is not. The exhaust pipes and the base of the engine block are not like those used in F1 cars.

Yeap, I don't remember the last time F1 cars had exhausts exiting that wide of the car. Those exhaust tips look far apart enough to extend past the wheels. And like ALX mentioned the base looks very chunky and would make the engine sit too high in the car.
