a bunch of straights with a few chicanes?

Yeah, cos Valencia, Bahrain, Barcelona, Monaco (yeah, I did say that) and Suzuka (I said that aswell) is so much better, right? Straights = overtaking = good races.

The first GP I ever went to....I was only 4, and not particularly interested in the race, but hey. I can't remember much, except the very loud noises and the wastegate chatter...even through a set of ear muffs!

This was the golden era, none of the nasty V10 trash!
Would you like the full BBC coverage of that race, for a full two hours (almost) of loud noises and wastegate chatter....?

Thread revival! Go go Williams F1 team!

Williams F1 Team said:
In a revival of a long-standing tradition at the Canadian GP, Williams and Lotus took to the Olympic rowing lake that borders the paddock at the Circuit Giles Villeneuve for the annual F1 raft race following qualifying on Saturday.

Based on very strict regulations and ruthless scrutineering that demand teams must construct a vessel only with materials that can be found in their garages, this year's race only attracted two entries (shame on the rest of you); Williams' design was based around an aluminium front wing flight case with pitlane lollipops for oars. Lotus by contrast went for a high downforce spec arrangement with a large rear wing and a more conventional 'escape from Devil Island' floation raft lashed (literally) onto empty water bottles.

From the off it was clear the Willies kayak was the far superior craft despite a heavy bread roll bombardment from a frankly rather partisan crowd on the shore. The Lotus pedalo, by now dubbed the Titanic, had developed pronounced steering problems and its crew decided to abandon ship and endeavour to scupper their rivals. Undeterred, the Willies boys - Skipper Matt Webb and Cabin Boy Nick Matthews - dragged their boat over the finish line first to claim the glory.

Flavio: Is cold champagne, nice, very. :D
Some good stuff indeed, the Schumachers cocking about, Hakkinen classics =) And the Kimi dive, just brill :D

^ Wow that was a mess..

MP4-22 wing, 21 rims, 23 wing and side, hmm... no bargeboards.... thats a hybrid right there.

was just going to post that video here. Hilarious to watch, those two actually have quite good chemistry.

In case you were wondering how Webber lost so many positions ;)
Great driving by Kubica and Button.

So basically Button went around the outside, Kubica dived down the inside, this put Webber out of position and he got gobbled up by the two Williamses over the next 3 corners. Finally the full picture of that first lap. :)

Pity we never got to see that (at least to my knowledge). Excellent view from Button's car though. He would've been bloody annoyed to see Kubica stick his nose past :p

where the hell does kubica suddenly appear from, they overtook webber each on a different side? anyways, looks like webber braked way to soon the moment button overtook him. his own fault...

he should've kept his 'early-brake'-move for a couple of laps later :D

This one is doing the rounds now. Jenson and Lewis checking out the McLaren MP4-4. Just awesome to see all the other cars McLaren have built over the years. That would be an amazing experience to simply walk amongst them and take in all the history. Even if they're not on display, it's good to know warehouses such as these exist :).

i wouldn't want to pay insurance on that warehouse

great video, the one of lewis and jens looking at the old cars. what a sight that was though all those McLaren cars over time, like bone i wouldnt wanna pay the insurance, wonder how much its all insured for at the end of the day.

really enjoying the videos of Lewis and Jens, seem to have some great chemistry between them, and they dont seem as forced as you would usually expect drivers to be in that position.
