It was also the second most recalled car in American history. (It was first until the first-gen Ford Focus started being built here.) And were some of the most unreliable cars ever produced. It was worse than a Yugo.
Just when you think rick's making progress on not liking shit cars...
I hereby declare rickhamilton legally blind and revoke his license!

Do you think there's a "normal" timeframe, age-wise, for people to become nostalgic for their old, long-gone vehicles? Let me try to explain. I know why I want a Dodge Dart so badly. It's the great-grandson of my beloved first car, a 1990 Dodge Shadow. I've been thinking about that Shadow a lot lately, and realize that I didn't appreciate it while I had it. Sweet ride. It had the 2.5L straight four (no turbo), it was the last model year before Mopar ruined it, good suspension, big torque for the time period, etc. It's a car I should be nostalgic about.
I didn't feel this way about the Neon, though, otherwise I'd have got one when the Shadow got side-swiped by a truck. I sure as hell didn't feel this way about the Caliber. So why am I getting as much bone as a 47-year-old diabetic can about the Dart? Is it just Alfa Viagra Magic? And why am I doing CL searches for Shadows? I should know better than that. I had mine third-party rust-proofed, but if you didn't, they've devolved into their component molecules by now.
Or have I just hit the right age and frame of mind for nostalgia to kick in?
There's your answer right there. Check your sugars.. I think they're muddling your brain.Do you think there's a "normal" timeframe, age-wise, for people to become nostalgic for their old, long-gone vehicles? Let me try to explain. In all seriousness, I remember the Shadow growing up. My friend had one when we were in high school. All I'm going to say is "hated it" and leave it at that (but we *were* in high school, so him having wheels of anykind was a bonus, whereas I did not).
As for the Dart... I don't know, I guess it has a lot of potential, especially with the Italian DNA (to break down).
Ahh the joys of owning an older car, threw a code today while getting home (luckily right near my house AND near the shop that I go to from time to time) and was having VERY rough idle. PCV got all mucked up so the guy cleaned it and I'm back on the road. Need to invest in a code scanner so I can check what the problem is myself....
Definitly. I think there's a post by me somewhere on this board where I very drunkenly ramble about my taxi home being a Prius (or Hyundai, or sth like that) and not a Merc and how I feel ripped of by the taxi company because of it.i was just passenger in a 2012 prius and i have to say i rather liked it. the whole idea of e-mobility suddenly is rather appealing... i am rather drunk though, so maybe that has impaired my judgement
Ah, thank you for providing me with sig material. That was fabulous!Good enough for Carroll Shelby to inappropriately touch it, anyway.
Uh oh...i was just passenger in a 2012 prius and i have to say i rather liked it. the whole idea of e-mobility suddenly is rather appealing... i am rather drunk though, so maybe that has impaired my judgement
ThanksI find this works well enough for something to throw in the glovebox:

Cheap, too.
There is no problem with the idea of e-mobility itself, rather its the execution of such ideas that leaves something to be desired. Prius is a complete and utter crap in pretty much every way, the Honda Clarity on the other hand is not bad as a daily run about. Then you have things like the Tesla Roadster that really is a good sports car despite being electric.the whole idea of e-mobility suddenly is rather appealing
I had one as a rental.i was just passenger in a 2012 prius and i have to say i rather liked it. the whole idea of e-mobility suddenly is rather appealing... i am rather drunk though, so maybe that has impaired my judgement
