Random Thoughts... [Automotive Edition]

I want to find whomever designed the interior fuse box for the Ford Taurus and do something to him that can only be described as violently pornographic.
I hope you mean pornographically violent. Violently pornographic has quite an opposite connotation. ;)

Erm, isn't that platform still based off of/developed from a Volvo? Is it anything like this?
Nope, that's super-easy compared to the Taurus. You have to lay on the floor and look up under the dash and against the side bulkhead just ahead of the driver's door. There is no access panel

I stand by what I said.

Well, that was dumb. Ask CrzRsn to find out who was responsible for that stupidity. :p

Perhaps they thought the knee panel would be removable and then they didn't do that? I know that some makers decided to not put in access panels but then anticipated that the user would remove the knee panel to get much improved access to the fuse box/panel. That said, Ford does have a spotty history of doing this sort of thing: https://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/...sel_Standard_Cab_Pickup/fuse_interior/replace

Y'all keep thinking Fords a small company with 25 employees.

Nope. We're just expecting that the person responsible for such idiocy is going to have been promoted to a high management position and that they would be so proud of their screwed up design that most engineers at the company would know about it due to their trumpeting it constantly. :p

Alternately, we could just blame the head engineer on the project, as the buck stops at his desk. :p

Probably not.

That sounds rather similar to the Mustang only difference being driver vs pass side

RT: i really like the new peugeot 508!!
Me too, it looks awesome. Sadly I'm in no need for a 2+3-seater* sporty sedan. And if I was, I'd probably choose a Kia Stinger...

* Yes, I've sat in the back of a 508 and can say with confidence that the car is not made for more than two adults - who sit in the front row.

The Jag XJS looks surprisingly good with 16" wheels from a later XJ8 sedan. That second one (from the LWB Vanden Plas) looks especially aggressive.

Car is gorgeous, but I prefer the way it looks with the rims in the top pic.

Love the car, but have grown to dislike BRG.
